Today being 7/26/2018. Today my vehicle just shut down while coming to a stop sign in the morning, and again in the afternoon when making a U-turn. And for about 2 weeks before, a few times I felt the engine attempt to shut off when coming to stop signs and lights, which the vehicle shaking would take place and the motor sounded like it was going to die. In the case of transmission, for the past month in random moments while stopped at an incline or turning onto an incline street, the gears would delay shifting into the next gear, and it would sound like RPM was reaching higher than normal rotations before actually shifting into the next gear, the car jerking from the catch. All events occurred while vehicle was in motion, on streets, both when turning or stopping, or incline climb involved.

While in motion, the vehicle shuts off without warning. A message on the dash says put the car in park to start. The car consumes large amounts of synthetic oil, which should last up to 6 months but only lasts between 700-1000 miles per quart. The oil light does not come on indicating that the oil is low. It flashes across the screen too fast for the driver to see the warning. When the oil is low, the car begins to shut itself off while in motion. This has happened while driving at both high and low rates of speed on city streets and a highway during rush our traffic, nearly causing a collision with vehicles behind me.

After a routine oil change, I proceeded to exit a parking lot at 10 mph, pressed gently on gas pedal and heard a very loud pop. Vehicle immediately lost power and was extremely loud. I returned the vehicle to the Jeep dealership that performs my maintenance, and they stated there was a large hole in the exhaust flex pipe. The vehicle is less than 3 years old and less than 60000 miles on it.

I need to file a complaint against Jeep. The transmission in my 2015 Cherokee is awful and a safety concern. The vehicle jerks around so much when I'm driving it, I'm concerned it's eventually going to cause an accident. In traffic it punches forward and stops abruptly because of the transmission. I have taken it back to try to get it fixed and have been told that's just how it is. It's awful that I spent so much money on this vehicle I'm actually scared to drive. Anytime I have a passenger they comment on how the car jerks and unpleasant it is to ride in. I thought it was just me getting a lemon and something I have to deal with but I went online today and there are so many other 2015 Cherokee latitude owners with the same problem. It's really terrible and the company should be ashamed because this is going to lead to many accidents.

The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. While driving between 18 and 40 mph, the contact heard a chiming sound and the battery warning indicator illuminated. Within three seconds, the "shift to park designated gear" warning indicator also illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to the dealer (Chrysler, Dodge, and Ford Fiat of bay ridge, 8635 18th avenue, brooklyn, NY 11209). The dealer stated that they would perform diagnostic testing and notify the contact of the results. The manufacturer instructed the contact to notify them after the dealer completed the diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 20,005.

I have been having issues with what I assume is the transmission. When stopped on an incline, when I go to accelerate the whole front of the vehicle bucks and makes lots of noise. It sounds like gears are grinding and it is fighting to get traction. Also, when back up my driveway it feels like the rear wheels are slipping and fight to get traction as well. It started to happen when driving down the highway on a flat surface at like 30 mph as well. I have already taken it to a dealership where they performed a software update on the transmission. It has not fixed the problem, but has made it less frequent. I have already taken it back to the dealership again. The vehicle is still under the powertrain warranty. I have taken videos of the problem occuring.

I bought my Jeep with 12,000 miles. I have taken it to the dealer 3X so far for the same exact issues. Transmission clunking, lurching, wont down shift at low speeds. When in traffic below 20mph some times it revs for a few seconds and doesn't move and then the vehicle lurches forward. Sometimes it just has no acceleration like its stuck a few gears too high. The shift going into 5th gear sometimes feels like I got rearened it shifts so hard. When this happens the vehicle jerks back and fourth and has a metallic bang going into 5th. The 5th gear hard shift is intermittent. The bogging, lurching and refusal to down shift at slower speeds is constant. Dealer has yet to be able to do anything but computer updates. They say its "normal". it is very dangerous in traffic because you never know what its going to do when you try and accelerate. I can't count the number of times I have tried to cross in between traffic and the truck refuses to go or just moves at a turtle speed.once I press the accelerator hard enough it will down shift hard enough to break the tires loose and peel out when it lurches ahead. It is very troubling and I don't want to let anyone besides myself drive it because I dont want them to get in an accident. I can also assume that all of these hard shifts are causing a lot of premature wear on my drive train. Its like putting the car in neutral, revving it up and then slamming it into gear. It is a daily occurence.

Brake pedal that slings forward after releasing and making a slamming noise, plastic parts just falling off inside from under the dash, the trim falling off on the outside, the obvious transmission, the power liftgate releasing and refusing to close on its own, the display screen blinking and occasionally refusing to respond, the tire pressure gage indicating a warning of pressure to 51psi then seconds later changing to 31psi (this one occured after the latest software update), gps is unbelievably unreliable, uconnect takes control when not given permission, start/stop button does not work everytime. Shutting the vehicle off has been difficult. Alt feature does not work about half the time, battery has had to be replaced two times. The inside liner around the roof not attached, the left back wheel the trim is popped off. The vehicle refused to go when at a busy intersection 4 days ago and almost caused a collision. Gas pedal was pushed down for 5 seconds before it started to move.

Transmission slamming hard in RD3 and 4th gear in motion, engine stalling at stop, refusing to start. All trim falling off inside and out. Took to dealer they said nothing wrong. Took back again 2 months later they said software update would fix it. Fixed for about a week then all started again. They didn't even address the trim and liner issue. Gps also completely off and it wont update either. I purchased this in 2016 Dec. The entire thing is just falling apart plastic pieces are falling out from under the dash! cant get help and paid 2500 extra for warranty they wont fix a non fixable issue.

While driving in a 50 mph zone on a major roadway in the town I reside in my vehicle decided it no longer want to go. Even with my foot on the gas pedal I could see the needle for revs moving when I pushed the pedal, but the car wouldn't move. I took my foot off the gas and tried the pedal again. Same result the car would rev but not go aside from a stuttering /light jerking, almost as if it didn't want to change gears. I have had rough shifts from the day we drove this off the lot. I was told time and time again that it was part of the break in period and there were no codes spitting out until this past summer where I got the service shifter problem a second time that was accompanied with service 4 wheel drive. I never have used this vehicle off road and maybe twice for Virginia snow. I took it to the dealership and there was a recall, which they have fixed. But now we are back to the same symptoms only now the vehicle wants to stop forward motion while driving. It is at the dealership and they are saying it was a wiring issue. This vehicle is not safe. How many people need to be in this vehicle before an accident happens. Luckily for me I was the only car on that section of the road but if I wasn't I would have been rear ended especially during rush hour.

While driving on Sunday my Jeep suddenly without notice or warning shut off and would not restart, I was stranded in middle of the road since there was no warning I had no time to pull to side. Aaa towed to clark Chrysler/Jeep where it was bought and under extended warranty. All pm's have been done there and done timely. What they found was Jeep was down 3 qts of oil, I asked how that could be and why would engine shut off so abruptly they claim the 2.4 engines use 1qt per 1,000 miles, that no indicator or warning comes on and engine will shut off to protect it. No where is it listed in owners manual, I have been in automotive for over 30 years and if an engine burns a qt per 1,000 you rebuild or buy a new engine, I am now told I must check and add oil every 1,000 miles on a 2015 with only 42,000 miles! safety concern is if anyone is on highway it could cause death with a sudden stoppage of vehicle, I was left in the middle of of a country road and aaa had police come to help block me from traffic passing around me, I never heard of anything like this so I called Jeep and melisa on their consumer line confirmed with service tech ian hogan and told me that she is told it happens and there is no warning, how can Jeep think this is safe without at least notifying owners to be aware?

Vehicle rpms rev up to 4000-5000 when going down hills on city streets going 15-20mph. Vehicle randomly accelerates when not hitting gas and vehicle not on cruise control. Vehicle jerks when changing gears. Vehicle also studders when pulling out on city streets. Purchased the vehicle on October 21, 2017 with 34,000 miles. Took vehicle to certified Jeep mechanic on November 6, 2017 with my complaint. They stated the transmission needed to be 'flashed'. I picked the vehicle back up at 4:30pm. After leaving it immediately started doing the same thing. When approaching a stop light on a city street as I began to slow down the vehicle shut completely off in the middle of the road. I took the vehicle straight back to the mechanic and told them what happened. They gave me a rental vehicle as they were closing and didn't have time to investigate the problem. I picked the vehicle back up on November 7, 2017. They stated there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. This vehicle is very unsafe as it randomly accelerates and cuts off randomly while driving. Jeep needs to recall this model before someone gets killed. Every time I drive this vehicle I am worried it's going to cause an accident. I've owned the vehicle for only three short weeks and I've already had it in the shop twice. I haven't even made my first payment.

The vehicle accelerates when I am trying to slow down. This happened top me while driving in my neighborhood and happened to me while driving down the highway. Almost caused me to hit another vehicle. Had this issue before when car was almost brand new, took it to the dealership and they flashed the system. Said it was a recall. Car drove fine for a while but now I am having the same issue again.
