In 2018 I got this 2015 JEEP. I was driving down the street, after dropping my grandkids off, and the car stopped in the middle of the street. I was towed to a gas station and they said I had no oil in the vehicle. I put more oil in it and it ran smooth. It would stop on me all the time. I pick up my grandkids and the car would stop. I drop them off and the car would stop; even after I put oil in it.

I get a postcard about an oil issue and go to a shop. I was told my car didn't qualify for the recall. One month later my engine light comes on. I go back to the repair shop and was told that I needed an over 500 dollar repair job to replace a part of the oil mechanism in the engine.

When I told them I had a recall card, they wouldn't even look at the car. After they find out the recall was over they look at the car and charge me over 500 dollars to fix it.

This is not right. Why didn't they fix it when the recall was active. They kept denying service saying that I had to go to a dealer. There are no dealers in my area. I just had surgery and couldn't drive far. The lady at the counter said that the light could have been reset. Then a man came out and said 500 dollars. I feel like I was taken advantage of. They didn't even give me the bad part back. I don't know if they changed it or not. They could have reset the light and charged me for that.

I was headed into town, went out to my car, and it would not start AGAIN!!!!! Check engine light on, ETC light on, 4x4 disabled, chimes going off, all the warning lights are on, would not turn over. So, since it's still in warranty, I called roadside assistance. Pissed, because this is the 3rd time now! The lady who took my call, informed me that warranty would not pick up the price of my tow, since I had it towed within the last month! Button pushed!!!!!!! I told her that my car would not need another tow, if they would only build a vehicle that was not a piece of crap! I then called Jeep Customer Care. I have filed a complaint, have a case number, and am screaming Lemon Law! They finally got roadside assistance to cover my tow, and I am currently in a free customer loaner. My Jeep was towed back into the dealer who had it less than a month ago. It was just an update, was what I was told then. I've informed Jeep that I will not accept that answer this time. A computer update should NOT make a vehicle un-drivable! Seriously disappointed, and mad. I am still paying on a brand new car, that is NOT dependable, reliable, or trustworthy. And, yes it is a brand new car, I bought it new, I am the original owner, and I have not even owned it for 2 years yet, it only has 19,000 miles on it. It has been in the shop for warranty repairs 7 times in that past 8 months. Unbelievable! I will let you know what they come up with this time, once they have a chance to look it over. Being that it is Easter week, it won't be looked at until at least sometime early next week. Driving a new loaner though! It has 3,000 miles on it.....we'll see what it's got on it, when I'm done!

Driving the car down the freeway, switched from automatic to manual override and when re-engaging into automatic, check engine light turned on. Contacted mechanic who offered to clear the code for free. Upon clearing code, mechanic noted that the code was related to "coolant temperature under normal." He said it could be the coolant sensor or a low coolant level. He noted that if the light came back on, I should run a diagnostic. Sent me on my way.

I took the car for a full-service oil change following the last incident. Mechanic stated that in addition to changing the oil, all the serviceable fluids were checked and topped off. Light came back on about 3 weeks later. During this time I had diligently been observing the coolant temperature to see if there was a fluctuation. I couldn't find the fluctuation and it came on while driving to school in the afternoon. Frustrated, I returned to the mechanic the following day and he cleared the code again. He reiterated that it was the coolant sensor or a low coolant level. This time I reset the odometer to gauge how far I could travel before the light turned on.

Check engine light came on about 200 miles later. In my due diligence, I checked the coolant reservoir and found it well under the low level, despite being assured by the mechanic that every fluid was topped off during the oil change. I took it back in to have the code cleared (coolant temperature below normal) and he said it was likely a thermostat problem. I asked him if a low coolant level could throw the code and he hemmed and hawed that this could do it. He advised trying to fill up the coolant and seeing if the light came back on. I reset the odometer again and crossed my fingers.

Car made it a whole 17 miles before the light clicked on again. Looking at other garages to check out diagnostic fees. Will update with new information when available.

Have had a reoccuring problem with Check Engine light coming on resulting in issued with the remote start, etc, and they fix it by flashing the computer. The last time they kept my car for two days and inspected it and found nothing wrong. Now, for the third time the light came on about 100 miles after being "fixed" and then later (about 100) miles it went off on it's own. I'm still not sure what's wrong with it, but considering I've had other significant problems with my Jeep it's not exactly comforting that they can't find any problems.

Cherokee Latitude V6

  • Automatic transmission

I purchased a Latitude V6 2WD 2 months ago. This past Sunday, while stopping at a stop light, the car made a dinging noise, the check engine light came on along with the message that the Start/Stop Feature was not working. When I began to accelerate, the car would not shift gears and by the time I got to 40 mph my RPM's were at 4,000. After a mile or so, I was able to pull over and turn the car off. When I restarted the car, the check engine light remained on but it was driving fine until I got to the next stop light. The same thing happened again.

On Monday, I had the car towed to the dealership. They told me that they performed updates on my car and resolved the issue. I requested them to test drive it for good measure and was assured all was well on Tuesday morning. I picked up the car on Tuesday afternoon and before I could get to the highway, the same error returned! This time I was able to accelerate normally without the RPM issue but as I was slowing my car, the down shifting was extremely rough. The service guy brought his tablet into my car and said that the errors were coming from the PCM. Today, Wednesday, he informed me that they were replacing the PCM. I should get it back tomorrow or Friday. I will follow up on this issue.

Update from Aug 7, 2015: 7/31 - Replacing the PCM did not fix the issue. They are now replacing the transmission - which is on a 3 week backorder. Not sure what I am going to do next - weighing my options.

Check engine light and stop/start assist service light came on and MPH dropped from 55 to 30 MPH and transmission temp rose to 210 degrees. It's a new 2015 Jeep Cherokee Latitude, driven daily to and from work and has 8800 miles on it. A $30,000 piece of sh*t!

Yesterday when I was driving, the engine light went on. We also go at message from Uconnect telling us that we need to immediate service. We called our dealer Jacksonville Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Arlington - 9600 Atlantic Blvd Jacksonville, FL 32225 (904) 721-6888 where we were told they can't get to it for over two weeks. When I told them I was planning on going out of town, I was told to use it as it was not a problem. When I explained that both your manual and the Uconnect said that I needed to get it back to the dealership immediately, the service person told me to drive it until the engine light starts flashing. According to what I read, if the engine light starts flashing I could have caused a real mechanical problem. I also called Jacksonville Chrysler Jeep Dodge 11101 Nursery Fields Drive Jacksonville, FL 32256 (904) 493-0000 and talked to a “Service Adviser” and he told me to drive it until the engine light blinks.

If I follow the recommendations of the service people at BOTH these dealerships and I cause extreme damage because I followed their instructions and ignored your manual and the alert or Uconnect, who is responsible for the damage and who pays to fix the damage?

And, if I have to get it serviced before I drive it, do I now have to wait 2 weeks?

We bought a 2015 Cherokee on 12-12-14, about the 1st week of January my wife was driving on a highway between Fremont, NE and Omaha, NE and the check engine light came on and started to flash at her, it started blowing cold air (it was about 3 degrees out in the afternoon), the 4x4 inop light came on and it went into limp mode. Had it towed to the dealership and we were given a rental vehicle for the 10 days it was not with us. No issues as of today with the problem again.

I bought a 2015 Jeep Cherokee on Jan. 27th, 2015. I brought it home about 9:00pm. I got up the next morning and drove it less than half of a mile (it seemed to be running fine although it seemed a little louder than it did previously) when the check engine light came on. My husband took it back to the dealership that day where it still is today (Jan. 31st). They do not know when I will get the car back. They tried changing a "knock" sensor and something else but neither fixed the problem. My husband checked on it this morning and the service department manager said he was talking with Chrysler about the problem which makes me think they have no idea what is wrong with it. So, I've only gotten to drive my new car about 5 miles and only had it about 12 hours before the problem began. I am VERY disappointed and angry. I have a crappy rental car and am paying a lot of money for something I had for 12 hours.

Update from Feb 2, 2015: I entered the wrong date. The car is still at the dealership today, Feb. 2nd with no date of when I might get the car back.
