The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while refueling, gasoline was spilling from the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving at approximately 60 MPH, the headlights exploded. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was determined that the headlights needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while refueling the vehicle, the pump nozzle continuously shut off. The contact stated that he drove to several gas stations, where the failure recurred while refueling the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was running rough and hesitated to respond while driving and depressing the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where several fuel lines were replaced, and other fuel lines were blown out, and the charcoal canister was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic, where the fuel tank and the fuel neck were replaced; however, the failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle would intermittently stall after refueling with the "shift vehicle into neutral" warning message displayed on the instrument panel. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who discovered that raw fuel would enter the charcoal canister due to a defective liquid air separator located on top of the fuel tank. The contact was also informed that the separator could not be replaced separately, and the entire fuel tank would need to be replaced. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure on two occasions and a complaint was filed. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while his daughter was making a left turn, the vehicle stalled with the shift to drive warning and low battery lights illuminated. The driver coasted into a parking space where the push to start button was depressed several times to turn the vehicle off and on. The vehicle was restarted and driven to pomoco Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of newport news (12629 jefferson ave, newport news, va 23602) where the failure was diagnosed as a defective fuel pump. The fuel pump and canister were replaced. The contact stated that the fuel pump and canister were replaced by the previous owner in 2019. The contact stated that previously when the vehicle was filled with fuel, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that his daughter parked and left the vehicle running to burn fuel to drive the vehicle without issues. The contact stated that the fuel tank needed to be at a half or tank to prevent the vehicle from stalling. The contact referenced manufacturer tsb: S1814000002 as the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact stated that the vehicle sputtered while driving but did not stall or shut-off. The contact researched the failure and became aware of an issue with gasoline fumes entering the vapor canister and causing a stall. The vehicle was not repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. While driving approximately 30 mph, after the vehicle had been refueled, the electronic emergency brake erroneously activated. As a result, the vehicle came to an abrupt stop. During the failure, the "put into park to switch gear" message displayed; however, the transmission shifter would only shift to the park position. In addition, the check engine and transmission service indicators illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer (burk auto group Jeep, 1565 West ogden ave., naperville, Illinois) where it was diagnosed that the evaporator control canister was faulty. The evaporator control canister was replaced and the purge control was reprogrammed, but the failure persisted. The contact indicated that the failures occurred only after the fuel tank was filled. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 47,000.
