CarComplaints.com Notes: There's no way around it, the Cherokee's transmission is junk. There's no other explanation for why a vehicle, usually with under 40,000 miles, would have so many complaints
Tried to bring to a Jeep dealership but could not get an appointment for 3 weeks. Brought to local mechanic and upon diagnosis said he was surprised that the flex pipe had broken at this age/mileage.
Took car to local dealer and said it was not covered would cost $1500 to fix. Car only has 41,000 and I think because we did not purchase from them they did not want to help us. We have owned a total of 6 Jeeps and never had any issue. I can’t believe all the problems online with 2014 Jeep Cherokee. I don’t think I would purchase another Jeep. Really disappointed that Jeep would not stand behind their vehicle.
This has only happened since the weather was really cold and on the highway. We haven't driven it much outside the city on really cold days (-25 or colder celcius). When we are driving at highway speed (100 k or faster) and it drops to under 2000 RPM, the noise is like a vehicle with no muffler. If you accelerate back up, it seems fine.

So I have had nothing but problems with this darn car. I really wish they would just recall the whole thing. So to add to the issues, recently my Jeep has grown louder and louder. Now this is only a 2014 vehicle. I don't think the Flex pipe in this should be going bad already, but from what I hear, Jeep has made this vehicle as cheap as they could, and it really shows. If I had to purchase this all over again, NOPE! I am stuck with this now because dealers wont give me jack for a trade in price. Cant say I blame them though, its a POS.
The exhaust "putters" like an old car from underneath and at the muffler. The dealer says it is designed that way. It is to clear the moisture from the exhaust. Nice concept... but annoying. several people have told me I have an exhaust leak. Dealer assures me there is nothing wrong.
brand new vehicle with just over 250 miles, its either having trouble starting or when it does, sometimes when you start it and put it in gear you will hear a loud noise from the muffler. I opened to door so the video could pick it up. even with the doors shut the louding humming sound was deafening and I have 55% hearing loss, it was like riding with the windows down and hearing wind buffering, of course the dealer shrugs their shoulders with a flaccid look saying I dunno it didn't do it to us which is exactly why I recorded it.
