So, actually I had been hearing this whistling noise on startup just days after I purchased the car, but since I purchased the car in December and we were experiencing record breaking lows in temperature and it only lasted a few seconds, I contributed it to the cold weather. However, once again this winter on cold days, the car was still making this very loud whistling sound but now it was lasting for minutes and continuing to make the noise while I was driving.

So, I took it to the dealership to see what was going on because my car should not be making this noise. In fact, I have now dropped my car off at the dealership for the 3RD TIME to fix this noise. On the first visit I was told they had to replace bearings??? (something like that). Well the car was still making this loud whistling noise, so I took it back to the dealership. So then I was told it was the pulleys and they replaced those. However, when I went to pick up my car from the dealership, guess what?? I STILL HEARD THE NOISE!!! Next I was told the Water Pump needed to be replaced. After replacing the water pump, the dealership mechanic still heard the noise, NOW I am being told it is the Alternator! This is ridiculous.

My car has been at the dealership for 8, going on 9 days! At this point I am concerned about whether or not they really know what is the problem! Furthermore, I am worried what is going to go wrong next on this car!!! I purchased a new car so I would not have to worry about getting stranded or having to deal with car issues. So, WHY AM I HAVING ISSUES ON A CAR THAT IS ONLY A LITTLE OVER A YEAR OLD!!! I am very concerned about what will happen next with this vehicle. I really trusted the JEEP brand until this car (having owned 2 previous Jeep Vehicles). I feel like this has been the worst purchase!

Update from Mar 30, 2015: The dealership replaced the Alternator and the noise has stopped.
