The transmission is jerking when it shifts sometimes. It is not a smooth shift especially when shifting to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, &4th. The techs say nothing is wrong, but its not right. Sometimes it shifts late too. I have also had the car jerk forward when im coming to a stop and its downshifting. It actually pushed my car forward as I was pushing on the breaks to slow down for a stoplight.

I was having some issues with my 2014 Jeep Cherokee in January 2018. The screen was showing service transmission, shift car to park, then to desired gear. During this time I was stuck in the middle of a city street unable to move. The shifter was in drive, but the vehicle clearly wasn't. after several minutes, it finally shifted to drive, and I was able to drive the few miles home, but the vehicle stayed in a low gear.the dealer checked it out and told me I needed to pay for a software update. Having a transmission malfunction while driving down the road is a serious safety issue, but I was led to believe this would fix the issue. On April 4th, 2018 the same service transmission issue occurred again. I was stuck in the left turn lane at an intersection, and the vehicle wouldn't move. I shifted to drive, manual, neutral, and reverse, and it wouldn't move. The same error messages were showing on the screen as before. I sat there for twenty minutes until it finally went into drive. I immediately drove it to the dealer that looked at it the first time. I was upset as we had just paid for the issue to be fixed. We were told, "Chrysler says we must check for software updates first." Since it showed updates available, they assumed this was the problem and sent me on my way. Has Chrysler found that their software causes transmissions to behave in this fashion" if so, why is there not a recall? given that a transmission malfunction of this sort is such a major safety issue, why would Chrysler not take our claim more seriously and actually diagnose the issue" I believe the NHTSA should consider stepping in because it won't be too much longer before this transmission issue leads to a consumer's death or serious injury, if it hasn't already happened.

When driving highway speed miles vehicle doesn't shift into 9th gear. When this happens put it into manual and shows 8th gear. Manually shift to 9th, and transmission doesn't shift into 9th. Vehicle got great gas mileage and now RPM are high so isn't able to get as great of mileage. Did the recall for wiring harness on transmission and that fixed the error with vehicle going into safe mode. But now there is this issue. No recalls, but web searches show many people with this issue. ## VIN passed ## 2014 Jeep charokee trailhawk ##

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. While driving approximately 30 mph, after the vehicle had been refueled, the electronic emergency brake erroneously activated. As a result, the vehicle came to an abrupt stop. During the failure, the "put into park to switch gear" message displayed; however, the transmission shifter would only shift to the park position. In addition, the check engine and transmission service indicators illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer (burk auto group Jeep, 1565 West ogden ave., naperville, Illinois) where it was diagnosed that the evaporator control canister was faulty. The evaporator control canister was replaced and the purge control was reprogrammed, but the failure persisted. The contact indicated that the failures occurred only after the fuel tank was filled. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 47,000.

When parking my car and driving into the space suddenly I had an engine surge. It happened so suddenly. I tried to park it yet again and the same thing happened. This time I received damage to my vehicle when it was stopped by a large light pole. I called triple a and had it brought to the dealership. They put new brakes on the car. I felt secure. The third time I was slowing down due to vehicles in front of me. Suddenly the car surged again. I pulled out of my lane quickly so I would not hit the cars in front of me. Now I was in the oncoming lane. I saw a car horizontal to my car. Brakes did nothing to stop me. I hit her car. It happened so fast. Luckily, the passenger was shaken up and taken to the hospital. This happened on a city St. The vehicle was in the process of turning into the library when the accident happened.

After filling up vehicle with gas (2 separate occurrences), the vehicle will cut-off while driving for 1-2 blocks. A prompt on the dashboard would state "place gear into park" and a restart of vehicle would be necessary. First occurrence happen in 2/19/2018 and 3/28/2018. When first occurrence happened, the vehicle was dropped off at dealership and was instructed by service department the vehicle needed to be "flashed or reprogrammed" to resolve issue. Since then, the second occurrence happened recently 3/28/2018 and it needed to be towed to dealership for another inspection/diagnostic. It was then mentioned by service department, the reason for cut-off issue. The vehicle was low on oil (1 quart less). Major concern with vehicle not being trusted worthy while driving and possible accident may happen because of issue. Also being told 2 different reasons why issue happened.

The vehicle was taken to bob brady auto mall (4025 E boyd rd, Decatur, il 62521, (217) 876-3800) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The transmission was replaced; however, the failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that a transmission specialist would be sent out. The failure mileage was unavailable.

The service transmission, traction control, and electronic stability control indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to rainbow Chrysler Dodge Jeep llc (301 river highlands blvd, covington, la 70433, (985) 892-9165), but no diagnostic failure codes were found and the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired and the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that the transmission jerked and the vehicle failed to accelerate properly when the accelerator pedal was applied to change gears. While at a stop, the vehicle independently shifted into neutral. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 16V529000 (power train). The manufacturer issued 13 tsbs on the power train, 16 tsbs on the engine, and 76 tsbs on the electrical system. The dealer (central Florida Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, 8675 commodity cir, orlando, fl 32819, (407) 351-9940) diagnosed that the transmission may need to be replaced. There was a previous software update that provided no solution. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA action numbers: EA16002 (power train) and PE 15030 (power train). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000. Central fla Jeep replaced the motor mount on 03/07/18 for jerking issue.

I bought my car in March 2014, since that time my vehicle has been in the shop 7 times for the same thing. I have been to 3 different dealerships since my car is still under warranty and continue to have the same problem. Yesterday on my way home on a major freeway my car put it self in park and shut off this happened several more times until I pulled over somewhere safe to get it towed. I have 2 small children and feel the vehicle is very unsafe to drive I have contacted Chrysler as well regarding this matter. I would like to know when it becomes a concern for people and there families for someone to take action. The dealer ship refused to work with me and put me in a safer vehicle because I am now upside done on this vehicle. So they wanted me to make a $900 dollar payment. This to me seems that the dealership and Chrysler are more concerned with making profit and sales then they are keeping their customs safe. I hope someone opens their eyes to these types of situations. I called the national highway traffic and safety to report this and the lady on the other end of the line had no concern with dealing with it I asked to speak to a manager and was sent to a voice mail. Good to know that we have these guys watching on backs when it comes to the safety of families.

Wife was driving vehicle on highway at night, "service transmission" light went on asking her to "put car in park"...she pulled off road and car slipped out of gear at stop sign, where she had to turn engine off and restart. She was able to drive car home with check engine light on. Car is currently with johnson Jeep in Washington, NJ. No contact from them as of yet to issue/repair. 2-18-18 in the morning backing out of driveway engine cut offf. 2) 9-12-17 in the daytime on a local town rd. Making a left turn engine cut off. 5-16-17 daytime stopped at a red light on route 17 hwy engine cut off. 6-16-15 daytime going 20 miles an hour engine cut off in the middle of the road local town road. This is happening because the oil level is below a certain level, however the oil is not at a low oil level according to the dipstick. Dealership said we have to check the oil level every time we drive our vehicle. Having many problems with engine/transmission still under warranty but I am not getting any help I was told there is nothing that they can do to help me.
