CarComplaints.com Notes: There's no way around it, the Cherokee's transmission is junk. There's no other explanation for why a vehicle, usually with under 40,000 miles, would have so many complaints

I have noticed when moderately accelerating from a stop, the front wheels would spin until the traction control engaged. This was extremely noticeable when pulling out from a side street, and turning onto the cross street during wet conditions. I never thought this was "right" and just recently realized this is NOT how this 4 wheel drive system should work. The link below explains how this system should work.

There are actually rain and temperature sensors (as well as many other sensors) in the Cherokee Trailhawk that tell the vehicle's computer when to engage the 4 wheel drive system. It is apparent that my Cherokee Trailhawk is NOT engaging the systems properly allowing the front wheels to spin, then allowing the traction control to take over.
I reported this issue to FCA via email adding that I was concerned this issue could be related to all the other transaxle shifting issues I have also had from day one.
