CarComplaints.com Notes: There's no way around it, the Cherokee's transmission is junk. There's no other explanation for why a vehicle, usually with under 40,000 miles, would have so many complaints
The key fobs will stop functioning periodically (often). Doors will not lock/unlock, ignition will not work, etc. Taken vehicle to the dealer five times. They have replaced fobs and sensor/receiver. No improvement. Chrysler Customer Assistance Line is a JOKE. They do not return calls and clearly could care less. Dealer told me that their technical assistance contacts are very slow to respond and offer little assistance. They suggested to me that they were likely not able to do anything further and I need to do "whatever is necessary". I am beginning to pursue legal action under the FL Lemon Law.
I have owned eight Jeeps previously and looked forward to the new Cherokee. Will never purchase another Chrysler product. Back to the foreign car market. In the past 20 years, I had a VW and a Volvo that both had problems right after purchase. WITHOUT ME ASKING, both times the dealer said this was unacceptable and replaced car. Sad the US auto industry still does not get it.
