He was informed that his vehicle was included in the recall; however, the parts were not available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. There are no failures at this time.
The contact owns a 2000 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle had been repaired according to recall 02V104000 (fuel system, gasoline: Fuel injection system: Injectors). The contact stated that after the repair, the vehicle began making a squealing noise when she lifted her foot off the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that the failure occurred when the vehicle began to become warm. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who stated that they could hear the noise but could not determine from where it was coming. The failure mileage was 148,000 and the current mileage was 152,000.
The contact owns a 2000 Jeep Cherokee. While driving 55 mph, there was a loss of transmission power. The vehicle hesitated excessively, but the engine continued to operate. The warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was not taken to an authorized dealer at that time. On a separate occasion, the check engine and transmission warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The indicators remained lit until the engine was turned off. Immediately following, the engine shut off; however, the vehicle restarted within twenty minutes. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic twice for identical failures. The crank sensor and fuel filter were replaced; however, there were no resolutions. Currently, the vehicle is being repaired for the malfunctions. The mechanic inspected the vehicle and stated that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The fuel pump had previously been replaced. Prior to the failure, the vehicle operated normally. The current mileage is 125,000 and failure mileage was 75,000.

(1.) at 245 miles enginecheck light went on. Dealer replaced #5 spark plug and coil ignition system to correct. Four days later the same light went on. Also at 400 miles, 6/3/2000 estrong smell of gasoline in passenger compartment during cold starts.
