This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Consumer's vehicle rear ended another vehicle due to a malfunction in the rear brakes. While driving 35 mph, the driver applied pressure to the brake pedal and vehicle skidded 55 feet before hitting another vehicle. There were only skid marks from the front tires. The vehicle had not been inspected by a dealer.
I have just had my front rotors replaced twice.now I was notified by the dealership that in order to resolve a "knocking" noise in the rear when braking. I would have to have my rear rotors and rear axles replace. Also it seems as if I am having a front end alignment performed at least every 3 months. I am very concerned, because this 2000 Cherokee sport is my only mode of transportation. I am the mother of two young sons, so this vehicle is constantly on the go. I can not afford any mishaps especially when my children's lives are concerned. Please contact me @ taca73@msn.com.
