I purchased this truck about a year ago and it ran very good for about 6 months, then I started having issues. The first issues that I had was my starter. I have replaced my starter twice this year already and the starter I just put in is already having issues. The truck will start fine and then all of a sudden stop starting.
I am also having suspension problems which called the death wobble which occurs when I go over 60 mph. I just purchased a suspension kit and plan on replacing the affected parts. The truck runs very good when it is actually starts except for on the freeway. I hope to resolve this issues but it is getting very expensive just to drive daily and I am on a fixed income. I don't know whether or not to just get rid of it but when I do have problems I am noticing that many other Jeep owners even with newer models are experiencing the same issues and as a matter of safety I am requesting that you implement more recalls and fix the problems.
I have always wanted a Jeep and currently own 2 a 1999 Cherokee classic & a 2002 Grand Cherokee but due to the many issues that I have experienced with both vehicles I doubt that I will ever purchase another Jeep new or used. The same problems in design & flaws are being repeated year after year with no consideration for you customers safety or convenience. I know a lot of people who own various Jeep SUV models and the Jeep name brand is no longer being associated with quality & durability. I regret buying my 2nd Jeep which is the 1999 Jeep Cherokee Classic it has been nothing but trouble and is turning into a money pit with expensive repairs. I am on my 3rd starter this year and still having issues with my truck starting. I am very sure that you are aware of the issues that your Jeep customers are having and noting is being done to resolve them. Your product name and reputation is suffering greatly and I am sure it has to be reflecting in your new car sales as well.
Sadly I will no longer purchase another Jeep SUV because of issues that seem to repeat year after year without a resolution or responsibility be taken to fix them. Your customers are suffering financially and are being inconvenienced on a daily basis. I have no idea whether or not my truck will start up after replacing the same part over and over again at my expense. I hope that something can be done to fix your products defects. The costs of parts and repairs are skyrocketing and your customers are left holding the bag. I had to get a second job just to keep my vehicle on the road the expense is greatly outweighing the benefit of owning a vehicle that sits more than it is running. I'm tired of being embarrassed and stuck and waiting on roadside assistance and everybody asking telling me they thought "Jeeps were a reliable truck". I am letting you know personally that my opinion has changed and I will never purchase another Jeep or Chrysler vehicle new or used ever again. The quality of new and used Jeep products are questionable at best.
I have done my research online and in person. There are literally hundreds of thousands of sites and YouTube videos dedicated to Jeep related issues. This tells me one thing that Chrysler and Jeep know about the issues that their customers are having and that they could care less about selling inferior automobiles that are not safe and that are defective. I just looked up your company slogan and again I am not impressed "Imported from Detroit" & "America's Import" your vision statement is even worse you are not living up to building quality cars or the customer satisfaction needs of all Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, or Ram customers. Seriously you are not establishing a dealer network that will reflect and enhance your brands reputation. You need to do some research online and find out what your customers who bought your products really thing about you I just googled Jeep reputation and the 1st thing that came up says " Jeep: Why Its Poor Quality Ratings Don't Seem To Matter - Forbes" & the second thing that came up asks " Are Jeeps Really That Unreliable" here is more proof "
A person I know bought a Jeep Liberty a couple years ago and has had countless problems with it. Some have been little things, some more significant. To make things worse, Chrysler phased out the dealership where he purchased it, so now he needs to go elsewhere for work. So, I’m wondering what some of you think of the Jeep Liberty. Are they problem vehicles or did he get a lemon? He’s spoken to several owners of them who love them and have had no problems and others who have had nothing but problems.
As a result of all these things, I heard him say yesterday that he’ll never buy another American vehicle when he’s done with the Jeep in a few years." I look forward to your response and sadly my expectations are low. In the age of the internet social media your company is showing reckless disregard for the quality of your products, your reputation, and the concerns of your customers safety & satisfaction. I'm going to give these last repairs a try but I am tired of being stranded & not being able to drive safely of the freeways and hopefully I'll be able to trade my 1999 Jeep Cherokee Classic in for a GM or Ford SUV. I had invested alot of money in my vehicle adding a tv radio with gps and a very nice sound system for it to be mostly parked and in need of repairs. The truck drives very good when it actually starts up but it looks like I invested my hard earned money in a defective product ans thousand of dollars down the drain. The Jeep name and reputation is about as good as the Titanic if you ask me. I sincerely hope that you take a look at what your company stands for and make changes that affect the quality of your products and the needs of your customers or you will suffer the same fate as the Titanic financially.
