This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Driver's side seat frame broke. Seat wobbles back and forth. Obviously an unsafe situation being strapped into a seat that is not properly secured to vehicle. Will force of pushing brake pedal totally separate seat from vehicle? this is a major safety issue relative to passenger restraint (me) and braking or stopping of the vehicle(others). I have read where this is a common occurrence on Jeep of the same model and year as mine. Clearly, this is a manufacturing defect. I have never had a seat frame fail on any other vehicle that I have operated. This is not rust related. It is simply a failed vehicle weight reduction program that has blossomed into a full blown safety concern for both those in the vehicle and anyone else outside of the vehicle in its general proximity. Something needs to be done as vehicle owners will continue to operate these vehicles until the seat totally severs its compromised mounting and becomes totally detached from the vehicle. In the mean time, anyone in its path is at serious risk.
Passenger air bag went off while driving down the road in my 1999 Jeep Cherokee Chrysler investigated and said that nothing was wrong and won't do anything to repair. But I know there was something wrong because smoke came out of the air bag module and still smell burning wires dealership said that Jeep had known recall that said was performed and never was found recall on your web site it said possible air bag light or air bag deployment do to corrosion and the module was supposed to be moved to transmission tunnel but never was done and you can see corrosion all over module. And Chrysler would not say if it is safe to drive I would like to know what I should do this is a safety issue.
The local dealership informed me that the clockspring (part #56009071) responsible for air bag deployment was not working properly. The only indication I had of this was that the cruise control stopped working as well. The air bag has never deployed.
While driving 60 mph, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a cement wall. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The vehicle was towed to a repair shop.
While traveling about 65mph on highway without prior warning turned the vehicle right in order to straighten vehicle. When turning back towards the vehicle caused vehicle to flip six times. Dual airbags didn't deploy, and passenger side seat belt broke.

During collision both front air bags failed to deploy even though significant front end damage was evident, later consumer received recall notice concerning the impact sensor (00V-105).
While driving at approximately 40-45 mph made a panic stop, but could not stop fast enough, and ended up hitting a vehicle with full force. Upon impact, dual airbags did not deploy, causing injuires. Dealer claimed airbags were not defective.
Vehicle was involved in a frontal/rear end collision at 50 mph with another vehicle. Upon impact, both air bags failed to deploy. Dealer/manufacturer notified.

No injury reported. Dealer/manufacturer were not contacted at this time. Feel free to provide further details.

Consumer's knees buckled and face hit the steering wheel. Also, consumer's teeth marks were inside the steering column. Upon impact, frontal passenger's airbags didn't deploy.
