Erratic, intermittent instrumentation cluster, failure (shut-down) while driving, including speedometer, oil pressure gauge, amp gauge, temperature gauge, odometer, gas gauge and tachometer gauge. Isolated occurrences without warning made it difficult to explain. Because of safety concerns this equipment failure as noted in company service bulletins (081599) should have been reported to the vehicle owners and repaired at Chrysler expense.
The vehicle died at stop light, and would not restart, insured left to call tow service approximately 15-20 minute later when he came back, the engine compartment was on fire. Claim number 25-5566-210.
While insured was driving on wet pavement, he lost control of the vehicle and a hit tree, vehicle then caught on fire, insured feels that this loss was due to a manufacturer defect. Claim number 13-7350-903.
Vehicle stalled at a stop light and would not restart, consumer left to call a towing service and when he came back there was a fire in the engine compartment, claim 25-5566-210.

While driving the vehicle comletely shut down, as a result the vehicle hydroplaned and only stopped after skidding back and forth across the interstate and spinning several times, the dealer has not been able to find or repair the problem but they believe it is an electrical problem. Nlm
Whenever starting vehicle up & running, vehicle would make loud noises & oil pressure would go up. It was a constant noise, like it was knocking against something inside. Took to dealership & was informed by mechanic the noise was normal for Jeep.
On two occasions vehicle stalled out while travelling on highway at 50 mph. Vehicle was inspected/repaired on two occasions, and problem still occurring.
