Part #5fm30lazag, seat belt retractor failed to operate during an accident resulting in the passenger hitting the windshield. Dealer indicates this part is on indefinite back order to high demand. Complaint filed with Chrysler on May 30, 2003 (ref 11309586). Until today, Chrysler has provided no service or explanation of failure.
Consumer was hit from the rear at 75 mph in which the vehicle became airborne the driver's or passenger's air bags did not deploy, nor did the seat belts retract, causing the occupants serious injuries.
