Backing out of garage onto asphalt driveway, I went to stop by pressing on the brake pedal - surprise! It went completely to car floor with no pressure whatsoever. I start pumping brake pedal and came to a rolling stop. I checked underneath the car, a lot of fluid was on the asphalt from ruptured brake line with no warning light before incident. My guardian angel must been looking out after me the next day was going on trip 4 hours away back & forth with friend.
When I first bought the car in, they did a check and there were no recalls. After this last incident, I did some checking around the internet and found out there was a recall break issue. I checked the vin # - my car was not involved in the recall. However, it still make me wonder.
"GO FIGURE". Repair cost was no more than $400.00, in case you are wondering about the other 3 brake lines. I need to get those checked as well, brakes are too important not to get them checked every year, especially by my living experiences. I never ever had one like this one and this the first one I brought, to be honest I love the ideal of Jaguar XJL.
