My 2015 Jaguar Xj, which was in park gear - with engine running, started rolling back on the driveway in a dangerous and unexplained fashion and almost hit my kids and I. there was no-one in the car, and I was able to bring the car to a stop by jumping in and slamming the brakes. The car was rolling, not sliding. The contact owns a 2015 Jaguar Xj. The contact stated that while his wife was driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle independently accelerated to approximately 50-60 mph. The contact stated the driver applied the brakes however, the brakes failed to stop the vehicle. The driver kept the brake pedal depressed until the vehicle finally came to a stop. The contact was unsure if there were any warning lights illuminated. The contact had not contacted the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure.
