So far got two estimates where one location has only been able to give me the labor rate of $2800 and still waiting to hear back from dealership on parts. Said job would take about 4 days. So I contact dealership thinking it may actually be a little cheaper since I convinced myself that it would be much faster considering the dealership should have all the advanced machinery and equipment; especially compared to a mom and pop shop. Lo and behold, dealership not only says they too would take four days to repair the vehicle, but that in total, it would roughly $5000 to fix which included parts and labor.
While I bought this used vehicle just earlier this past January 2019, "as is", I didn't expect to have such issues, let alone, find out a company has known about this issue and have not recalled the vehicles in order to rectify the situation as any customer-concerned company should.
Jaguar should pay to have my timing chain issue resolved. I also lose the vehicle for four days so this whole situation is not only taxing financially, but in terms of inconveniencing customers who have to provide transportation for themselves and their families.
Please let me know what route I should take in terms of resolving this situation with minimal impact to my finances. Thank you.
