This car is equipped with the 6 speed manual transmission. When shifting up, even if you take you foot off the accelerator completely, the engine does not respond to the accelerator input as it remains at the RPM when the shift was initiated ( 3500 RPM as an example ) for over a second, drops 200 RPM then increases 50 RPM and then finally will drop to idle. The engine is not responding to throttle input when shifting this leaves the engine at a much higher RPM when trying to shift up and makes it impossible to shift smoothly since the engine is revving to high for the next selected up shift. It causes unintended acceleration when shifting because the engine speed is too high for the next gear selection. This happens all the time. It never not does it. The date below is just todays date. And it happens at all speeds. I bought the car as a certified pre-owned. It had 1031 miles when I bought it. I realized what was happening after driving for several hundred miles.
