The fuel tank started leaking a lot around 130 k miles. After debating whether or not to get a new tank ($400 not including labor), we opted for the $180 alternative -- having the old tank dipped in Teflon. It came back clean & silvery. We had the gauge mechanism replaced (I think was $30 more) while they had the tank out. 3 hours labor, $365 for the whole shabang. Not sure how long Teflon-dipped tanks really last since we traded in the Trooper a year later.
