Do not buy the extended warranty it's not worth the paper that it's written on. Took my car into the dealer, before I could tell them what wrong they told me that the extended warranty will not cover the engine problems and that it would cost approximately 20,000 for a new engine. I explained to him that there is 1 year and 1 month before the extended warranty expires. He told me that because the car was serviced at Nissan and not Infinity that the warranty is not valid. I said that's strange as its the same company, he gave me a funny look. I said if its not the same company then why do you answer the phone Nissan / Infinity.

I asked to speak to the service manager she was no help I then asked for the phone number for Infinity Canada, she told me that she doesn't have a number for them, but would ask and email me back. I spoke with Infinity Canada and he basically blew me off saying that the dealer had already said that they would not cover the issue. First and last time I will purchase and Infinity or Nissan very disappointed.

QX60

  • Automatic transmission
  • 55,000 miles

We've recently run into the same problem that's been listed here (and elsewhere) occurring in several different years for QX60 engine sludge. We bought the car used in 2021. When discovered right around the 55K mile mark, we assumed the previous owner had neglected oil changes (which was cited as the only possible cause by the Infinity dealer.) After further research, it's clearly an unacceptably common issue with QX60 engines from 2017 forward, when a new direct-injection engine was introduced. The only solution the Infinity dealer casually offered was a $13K engine replacement.

A Nissan dealer did do an engine manual cleanout/ chemical flush + condition but said it was likely a "band-aid" solution. They also made no mention of this as a known issue. As of right now, it's still driving smoothly, with the occasional puff of white smoke and an intermittent internal rattle, but we feel we are on borrowed time. Still seeking potential solutions from a non-dealer Infinity expert mechanic.

QX60

  • Automatic transmission
  • 45,000 miles

Car has 45,000 miles on it - very similar to other complaints posted here on QX60. Car was smoking, taken to dealership, and were told that there was engine sludge buildup, and engine needed replacement and would. Not cover under warranty.
