No serious problem just thought it was worth mentioning before somebody blew a gasket. This car pulled into the shop today for a routine oil change. The people that had serviced the vehicle before had written that it held 7.5 quarts under the hood. The owners manual however claimed the vehicle only held 6.5. We went about the oil change but upon refilling the oil we only put in 6.5 quarts, fired up the truck to build oil pressure, then pulled the dipstick and it was showing a quart low. As we was talking with the customer about the situation the QX56 sat still for 10 minutes or so. We went back out and pulled the stick and it was showing on the top-most full mark. So if you have your oil changed at a shop or do it yourself it does only take 6.5 quarts even though first pull of the dipstick might suggest otherwise. Be sure to let the vehicle sit a while and that only 6.5 quarts have been in other wise you will end up with a quart too much oil and could blow a gasket resulting in engine damage.
