I took the car in because the back up camera quit. They told me car was flooded which shorted the module out. I was perplexed - how? I was told the sun roof drain tubes were clogged with leaves, resulting in water entering the cabin. Sure enough there was two inches of water under the carpet on the drivers side.
Now this is what made me furious, they tried to tell me it was not covered under warranty and I would have to pay up to $4000 to have all tubes replaced and the module plus reprogramming. When I asked the service writer how can I stop this from happening (we live in a city of trees and can't garage it all the time) he responded "maybe you should carry a car cover with you and keep it covered". Now that's luxury at it's finest!
After researching a little online, I found out it's not the tubes but the bulk heads at the firewall that leak around the seal. After I confronted the service manager about this they agreed to repair it under warranty. Really bad service, and to try to make me pay for this was underhanded at best. Well, less than one year later (and the vehicle out of warranty) the passenger side leaked and wiped out the electronics in the car causing all the horn, wiper and lighting circuits to malfunction. I had to disconnect the battery to turn the car off. Found two inches of water on the passenger side this time. Was told at the time of the first repair all tubes would be repaired but obviously they only did the one. Loved the car but expected better from a "luxury" dealer. Had to trade the thing in to avoid any more issues. Between this car and my 2015 Altima I cannot trust Nissan any further.
