I own a 2005 XG350L... When I went for an oil change last fall my mechanic told me that my front sub frame was looking pretty bad. He then told me about a recall on these particular models and to contact Hyundai.
So that's when I began my investigation into this supposed Recall. What I found out was that Hyundai had issued a recall on the 2001-2004~~ XG300-XG350 vehicles originally sold in or currently registered 21 states including my state of NH because road salt applied in these jurisdictions during the winter months may result in progressive, internal corrosion of the front sub frame of the vehicles.
I contacted Hyundai and they basically cannot tell me WHY the 2005 XG305L was not included in the recall. The reference # 09V124000. No reason at all?? Why was this year not included!!! When I have a rotted sub-frame~!!!!!
My car is unsafe and no mechanic will pass it for this safety reason, I have put complaints in with The National Highway Traffic Safety Admin. and also The Federal Trades Commission.
