2002 Hyundai XG350 sudden acceleration when starting off from a stop. Car starts off slow then suddenly accelerates causing the car to lunge forward. Also, car will run smooth then start cutting out and can't get the car to go any faster than 40mph. Dealer has replaced several computer modules but did not cure the symptoms.
The contact owns a 2002 Hyundai XG350. The vehicle caught fire while it was parked in the garage. The vehicle had been parked for 20 minutes. The failure occurred without warning. The cruise control was activated for 40 miles before the vehicle was parked. The fire originated in the engine compartment and was extinguished by the fire department. The vehicle was towed to a repair shop. The contact has pictures, if needed. The current and failure mileages were 60,000.
When T boned at 40 mph the side air bags did not deploy, and the engine dropped. Vehicle was towed. The dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.
Nary 05/21/2003 the consumer has had two incident with the vehicle losing power and stalling while on the highway. The vehicle was also serviced for the check engine light, car alarm, air conditioner, and power sun roof. Dealer notified
Intermittently vehicle engine would stall while driving at multiple speed. Vehicle has been at the dealer on more than one occasions and they are unable to duplicate the problem.
