This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Vehicle: 2002 Hyundai XG350 sedan, equipped with ABS system and anti-skid device. Events leading up to failure: Since 2003, on three occasions the following happened- while driving at less than 5 mph, upon depressing the brake pedal the car accelerated. On the fist two occasions no damage occurred. The car stopped on hitting the car ahead. On the third occasion, in September 2009, there was extensive damage to the car and others. On this last occasion I have the impressing that my right foot was firmly depressing the brake pedal, not the accelerator. In speaking with computer specialists, I was informed that there may be a feedback problem in the computer control system. As far as I know the body damage to all cars has been repaired.
