I bought this car new and have owned it for 3 years and now 3 interior door handles have broken! The first broke a few year ago so was fixed under warranty, but now the 2 passenger side door handles have broken. Only about 48,000 miles on car but past the 5 year limit for warranty. This is an apparent defect as the door handles should not crack like this. It is also a safety issue as the doors cannot be opened form the inside of the car.

The door handle fell off. That is insane. We were able to jury rig it so we could carefully open the door from the inside but got the handle replaced at the dealer as quickly as possible.

So, I'm driving around looking at other cars and I'm pretty sure the Veracruz got jealous and decided to show me what's up. My buddy was driving and pulled the handle to open the door and the dang handle popped off in his hand. While I got a good laugh out of him having to roll down the window ever time we stopped to get out of the car, I won't find it nearly as funny when I have to drive the stupid thing around tomorrow. I love especially that it decided to do this on a Federal holiday, so the Hyundai dealership and service center was closed. I'm stuck opening up the window on my car I just paid $38k for about a year and a half ago to open the freakin door. Nice. Real nice. That's quality craftsmanship. My ex-husband used to work for Hyundai at the plant... maybe he knew this one was for me.
