CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2009 Veracruz has no complaint trends to worry about. Heck, it hardly has any complaints at all. One issue to look out for is trouble starting due to oil leaking onto the alternator, but even that was was fixed during a 2014 recall.
Whenever its sunny and over 75 degrees F, the radio doesn't work. The Navigation system still works (without sound) but no radio, XM or CD. Also the 6-disk facing won't even open. Also, for 2 years now, if I drive somewhere (for more than a few minutes), turn off my car (i.e. at a gas station or fast food restaurant), and restart car, the radio won't work. So the problem somehow has to due with heat. But I have no idea of a remedy. The dealer wanted to charge me $2,000 for a new radio unit, but I'm not really sure that's the root cause. I think its an electrical wiring issue of some sort. But I can't find any info on the internet about similar occurrences.
Update from Dec 27, 2021: My audio system eventually stopped working all together and hasn’t worked in several years.
