CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2008 Veracruz has a minor trend of complaints where the valve cover leaks oil onto the alternator, causing alternator failure. The problem starts with the battery warning light & typically all the other warning lights coming on in quick succession. Luckily, that problem was covered in a 2014 recall>.
Overall, It's a solid reliable vehicle with no major problems reported.

Unfortunately my car is way past warranty expiration. This major safety problem that does not fall under a recall. The Dealership is charging me $418.00. I don't have that kind if money. Now I'm driving a car with air bags that are NON-DEPLOY-ABLE if I were to get into a major accident. So now I worry about my 18 year old driving the vehicle with no protection. And I also have a 13 year old son that is a passenger as well. Any advise on this matter would be helpful.
Thank you for reading.
