CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2008 Veracruz has a minor trend of complaints where the valve cover leaks oil onto the alternator, causing alternator failure. The problem starts with the battery warning light & typically all the other warning lights coming on in quick succession. Luckily, that problem was covered in a 2014 recall>.
Overall, It's a solid reliable vehicle with no major problems reported.

I bought this 2008 car in June 2016 because it looked well taken care of and the miles were low. After only 3500 miles the ESC light comes on and I cannot put the car in park. I put the car in neutral and turned it off and the ESC light went off and it could put the car in park. We went in side the coffee shop and then came out and the same thing happened but it would not come out of park and the ESC light was on. I tried to turn the ESC on and off with the switch that is has but it didn't do a thing. Can someone tell me what is going on with this and do I need to take it to the dealership I bought it from or a Hyundai dealer?
