CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2008 Veracruz has a minor trend of complaints where the valve cover leaks oil onto the alternator, causing alternator failure. The problem starts with the battery warning light & typically all the other warning lights coming on in quick succession. Luckily, that problem was covered in a 2014 recall>.
Overall, It's a solid reliable vehicle with no major problems reported.

I also have a 2008 Veracruz that feels like my brake pedal is grinding and pulsating at speeds less than 20 mph. This has been going on since we bought the car used with 20000 miles on it. The dealer says I need new rotors and pads because my rotors are out of round. The pads have 50% wear in the front and 20% in the rear. The funny thing is the grinding and pulsating are only after the car has been shut off, restarted and coming to a stop while at low speed or trolling for a parking space in a parking lot.
I told the dealer that I think the problem is low vacuum in the power brake booster, they think I am crazy. I have 50 years of experience working on cars and have never heard of rotors causing this issue.
