My engine started whistling and then just died. No power, no hazard lights..nothing. I took it to a mechanic and he says engine will not get oil pressure. A safety recall #182 has been issued on my vehicle, but the Hyundai service department I called confirmed it with just the last 8 digits of my VIN. He then told me they do not have fix, but I could have it towed and pay a diagnostic fee. I do not think I need to say anymore. This is a known issue and Hyundai is probably aware that I need a new engine and they will not help me. Buyer beware.

Called Hyun DIE to let them know that the car had stalled on the freeway found out got hot and the engine sized. Took to the dealership said they would take car of me. Capitol Hyun DIE in San Jose. The service dept said lack of maintenance and out of warranty. So still have to pay the loan for the POS car and not sure what to do. It could have been a serious accident, But people and companies have no Honor any more so they wait to see how many people get injured or killed before they do anything. Now there is recall 182 on the Hyn DIE Veloster T 2013 will its been 6 years that knowingly they sold a defective product that was not made right from the start. Now they will not stand behind their product. Not to mention the other 400,000 Hyn DIEs that were recalled and engines on back order for more then 6 months. This HYU DIE co is a joke. If you are a law firm and decide to start a class action lawsuit for the defective product 2013 Veloster T the 16,6500 bad engines they sold. The recall said that the software program currently running the air fuel compression is bad and leads to failures. This is exactly what happened but now they wont warranty due to 137000 miles. If anything call me see how I got so many miles out of a POS. PLEASE HELP!!

Veloster Turbo

  • Automatic transmission
  • 57,000 miles

Took my car in in January as it was also not starting, (turned out to be a sensor as the battery was just fine) they fixed the initial problem but not my car stalling out.

I have an automatic so I feel like that shouldn't happen? My car stalled out and started jumping again in March, currently it's been at the dealer 2 days and they still have no solution. The first time my car completely shut off, this time I turned it off before it had the chance to.

Veloster 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 68,000 miles

I'm at a stop light and once it turns green the car will not accelerate. It just revs and begins to crawl very slow. The engine is making a loud revving noise but not going anywhere. No check engine light is on and the car turns on and off fine. But when I try to drive it it sounds loud and only goes as fast as maybe one mile per hour. Taking to dealer today to get it looked at. will keep you posted on issue.

Veloster Remix 1.4L 4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 37,000 miles

My son bought a "certified" pre owned Veloster and one week later, fills up with fuel and the car completely looses electrical power as he pulls from the pumps. A short time later he gets power back and drives three miles home. As he parks the car all electrical power again fails, no lights, no interior lights and it won't start. We call the dealer and while discussing the problem the interior lights come on. I check the battery with a volt meter 12 volts 0 amps. We get the car started and I check with the volt meter again now the alternator is running I get 14 volts and 0 amps. We take it to the service department they send it to their Hyundai dealership who calls to say they can't duplicate the problem. I have seen other reports of this problem and think it's a serious safety issue since it can happen at night while you are driving. They want my son with little driving experience to take it back without doing anything to resolve the issue.
