The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Veloster. While driving 55-65 mph the vehicle backfired and stalled. The check engine warning light was illuminated. There was smoke detected from underneath the hood. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The contact called henderson Hyundai (460 N boulder hwy, henderson, nv 89015 (702) 800-6127) but was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was at the dealer several times for abnormal knocking noise in the engine. The contact stated that he was not informed of his VIN being included in NHTSA campaign number: 19V204000 (electrical system, engine). The manufacturer was contacted but did not assist. The failure mileage was 120,000.
