Driving 58 miles daily to work and back I use the cruise control frequently. Having it work sometimes and NOT work sometimes is really a pain and I've only had the car just over 8 months. I took it to the dealer to be checked out (I left it there so they took me to work and picked me up to take me back to the shop.) I was told that they had a tech test drive it and it worked fine for him. They further explained that it could be in the wiring or whatever and since it didn't act up when the tech drove it, there was no problem. I asked the service advisor something to the effect that I was a "liar" because it worked fine when it was test driven and he said basically "yes". So, I wonder, if the cruise control DID not activate when the tech was driving, is he able to diagnose it right then and there? It's been working 95% of the time since it was in the shop.
