My car broke down on the highway, found oil leaked out. Oil Plug fell off during drive making immediate oil loss which in result caused catastrophic engine failure. Vehicle needs new engine. The car received service maintenance in authorized Hyundai City of Bay Ridge Dealership. Car is less then one years old with only 4500 miles on it and oil plugs are not supposed to fall off the car without any apparent reason.

My pregnant wife-??s 2022 Hyundai Tucson lost engine power while on the interstate with our 16 month toddler in the car. Luckily she was able to get off the interstate and into a safe parking lot. The car only has 23000 miles and has been kept up with Hyundai-??s scheduled maintenance from their dealership. The engine is knocking and experiencing rough idle. Once I arrived I was able to read that there was an engine cylinder 2 misfire. About an hour later the -??MyHyundai-?? app sent the same error codes. It took the tow truck driver 15 minutes to go 10 feet to the flat bed as the car would turn its self off. Incredibly dangerous for a car less than two years old. I hate that I might-??ve gotten my wife and son such a dangerous vehicle.

On two occasions, both on busy highways traveling at about 65mph the engine just quit running. Very scary but fortunately was able to drift to the side of the road and wait for assistance. The car was towed to the nearest dealer two hours from my home. After the fuel injectors were replaced it was returned to us two weeks later. It only had 9,000 miles on it. This is a very dangerous problem to just stop running with no warning. We could have been hit from behind and killed.

On Friday 05.26.2023 I was driving on the highway and lost all acceleration power to the vehicle and was almost rear ended by a semi. Iwas able to pull off the road but had no power of more than 2 MPH to do so. No warning lights came on, no engine error codes. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership pending review. I have only 1,355 miles on the vehicle. I am afraid to drive this car.

I bought a -??22 Tucson Hybrid in Sept of -??22. Upon delivery there were issues w paint & a dent on the rear qtr panel. The bigger issue however, is disconnect in communication between the EV motor, gas engine & transmission. All work is done @dealership and well maintained. History of EV over 8 months: @1000 miles noise under vehicle began. Dealership inspected, all checked out. The dealership has done all servicing as scheduled. From 1000 to 12,000 miles, the vehicle drove best if in sport mode. Sport mode utilizes the gas engine and not EV. When in EV modes, the vehicle runs high rpms or it-??s sluggish. It-??s never consistent. In some instances; the vehicle will actually stall for 2-3 seconds and kick back on. 1 instance was at a stop light, turning left. Mid turn, gas to the floor, the vehicle stalled for 3 seconds before responding. I was almost hit at 50 mph in the intersection as both motors failed me. The next day, 3 lights came on: An EV, check engine and Hybrid motor light came on, 3 total. My Hyundai app stated: issue communicating EV and Gas motor, EMS communication error. This cleared itself in 36 hrs but I couldn-??t drive it safely for a week. I took it to the dealership, everything checked out. 3 days ago @ 17,400 miles, I received a text: Hyundai stated car unfit to drive. DTC code U062300, U111200, U02BB0:Powertrain EMS issue. The techs had it 2 days, fixed it. 3 blocks from dealer, check engine light came on again. I returned it to dealer. I-??ve found 32 accounts of these codes resulting in a Hyundai buy-back, new engine, new transmission or settlements. I-??m told my EV motor, gas engine and transmission won-??t communicate even after software / firmware updates & mechanical changes. I don-??t feel the vehicle to be roadworthy and I don-??t feel safe driving it, if Hyundai has no fix. I-??m told, many sales of this model @ my dealer have the same issues. Bad batch? I paid $47k (car & warr) I-??m hoping for a buy back or to get into a Toyota hybrid of = value

Within only two weeks of purchase this new car would suddenly stall in the middle of the road. The computer tells you to pull over. We continued to try and get the dealer to fix this issue, they first ignored us, then they secondly tried and successfully replicated the issue. They said there is no way they can fix the issue. This dangerous stalling in the middle of the road happened numerous times. You will push the pedal all the way to the ground and it won-??t go over 20mph. This is a very dangerous issue and these vehicles need to stop being sold. It is very dangerous. We have been left without our money back and without a car to drive for months. We cannot drive the Tucson as it is simply too dangerous and must be towed to go anywhere for salvage.

2022 2.5L HTRAC Tucson (Current Mileage: 27,088) This issue became notably clear roughly around the 12,000-to-15,000-mile mark on the vehicle. It's also worth mentioning that since month one of ownership, the vehicle has displayed some unnatural characteristics. Under hard throttle the engine created a tone that was very much discomforting and not confidence inspiring. It was abundantly clear the engine struggles to move this heavy AWD vehicle. The vehicle is so aggressive when it comes to shifting up to the next gear, I find myself doing 38-40 mph and the vehicle would be in 8th gear. When I would try to accelerate naturally the vehicle growls and vibrates and makes crunchy sounds as it struggles to accelerate against 8th gear. It's gotten so loud it can be heard over the AC and low volume radio. It's across the board as well, this issue occurs at highway speeds down to neighborhood driving. It will wholistically shift into too high of a gear whenever its possible, and the only way to prevent this experience is to manually shift the vehicle. This demonstrates that the driver is smarter in shifting requirements over the TCU. Furthermore, the gas milage for the first 12-to-15,000 miles failed to meet the specified expectations, additionally, the computer is aggressive in its calculations for the achieved MPG, and hand calculations tend to show they are off by 2 to 3 mpg consistently. I took the opportunity to change the oil in the vehicle early (1,500 miles) knowing that break in periods could have small metal build up as components seat and find their mark etc. To my Suprise, I was met with a substantial (in my opinion) amount of rolled metal material and metallic material in the oil. I took pictures and videos and decided to continue to change the oil every 2,000 miles to document changes. Currently the vehicles last oil change was at 25,000 miles and there is still a concerning amount of metallic material and occasionally rolled pieces of metal during oil changes.

Went to get state inspection sticker and when there ask them to check the oil, because every time I checked the oil it showed over filled. The dealership checked it show over filled when they checked it and put it on rack to drain the oil and put some of that oil in a bottle. Told me would need to get approval from hyundai to fix the issue. Two days later hyundai refused to fix problem said there was water in the oil pan. Then accused me of driving the vehicle through high water to which I never have and told them so, but they refused to find out how water is getting into the oil pan. They said all the fluid levels are normal, so they don't know where or how its getting in the oil pan. I bought the car from the same dealership brand new and have had it 1 1/2 years and only have 2475 miles on the vehicle.

When driving my car at any speed it will suddenly begin to get sluggish then it becomes unresponsive to me giving it gas and starts to decelerate. When this happens suddenly warning signs on the vehicle go off stating to check the hybrid system and stop the vehicle. When this happens the car then stops functioning. I never know when it is gonna happen. I have been in the middle of heavy traffic and at high speeds stuck in the middle of the road. I have brought it in now four times to different dealerships and contacted corporate and No one can find a problem. I have pictures of the warning signs going off, all I am being told is we don-??t find anything wrong when they run their test or try to reproduce the issue, so they can-??t help me. This is a very serious and dangerous situation to be driving a car that has and will stall at any given time.

On Tues Feb 7, 2023, I was traveling at approx 6:50 pm on a suburban street at the posted 35 mph limit. My car started to lose speed, slowing to 27, then about 22-24 mph. I felt as though the engine was misfiring for an unknown reason. Since I was approaching an intersection and needed to make a left-hand turn, I started to depress the brake pedal. With no oncoming traffic, I slowed not quite to a stop, made the turn, but then had extreme difficulty getting the car to accelerate, again with the engine sputtering, chugging like a misfire, and shaking. My vehicle did not seem to go beyond 15 mph, and slowed again as I turned into my destination, about 2-3 blocks from the intersection. I parked and locked the car and was in a store for approximately 10 minutes. When returning to my vehicle, it would not start-the brake pedal could not be depressed at all, it appeared extremely hard. After 1-2 minutes of gently tapping the brake pedal, it loosened and I started the car. I put the car in reverse and it stopped in the middle of the parking lot with cars almost hitting me. I saw Engine Warning lights, Battery Warning lights, and a quick message across the screen but was unable to capture the meaning. After several more attempts, the engine started but was shaking violently, but I could not go beyond 3 mph. The shaking was so strong, items on the passenger seat shifted on the floor. I chose to remain in the parking lot and call Hyundai Bluelink. Since it was dark, I remained in the vehicle with the engine running, but excessive smoke billowed from the rear of the car. It was towed to Gerald Hyundai in North Aurora. After 3 days the dealer could not find any issue, however, I refused to take the car back, as I could recall it misfiring in previous weeks but unfortunately dismissed it. I requested a Technical Case File be opened at the Dealer. I still do not have my car after 1 week. This is a very serious issue and I am aware other owners have experienced it as well.

The vehicle is currently at the dealership. I purchased the 2022 hyundai Tucson hybrid limited in April. Have gotten my oil changes done religiously at the dealership. Vehicle is at 22k miles. And had oil change 5 days prior to incident. I was on the way to work and vehicle started to struggle to accelerate, engine began malfunctioning. Vehicle dropped drastically from 80mph Dow to 25-30 mph in short period of time, would have been rear ended if not in right lane already. No warning or previous problems. No warning or check engine lights EVER came on before the vehicle would not drive at all. And was told by the vehicle to -??check hybrid system stop safely-??. Called roadside and vehicle was towed to dealership. They diagnosed as -??the timing chain was -??missing-?? one of the cylinders, causing a loss of power from the gasoline engine and the hybrid system attempted to compensate for lost power, resulting in engine failure-?? later that day when I arrived from work to get a loaner I was told that it was a broken camshaft and warranty would pay for a new engine.-??

On three separate occasions the vehicle refused to accelerate after being in a stop and go mode (I.e. traffic/drive thru). All three times an alert popped up on the dashboard stating: HEV Check Hybrid System Stop Safely. The second time this occurred a diagnostic code came up: DTCP112000. In all three occasions turning the car off and restarting resolved the issue at least temporarily. Also- the battery was completely depleted after each incident. Vehicle is at the dealership service center for the second time without and current diagnosis or solution.

Driving the car acceleration will go to zero. You can floor it and it will only go to 20mph. The car asked you to pull over safely. They hybrid battery is at zero and warning signs keep flashing. Has happened over three times on a new car. Dealership can-??t figure it out. When I look up -??HEV warning Tucson hybrid-?? there are many with same issue. Very, very dangerous issue.

While accelerating on an on ramp leading to the interstate, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson PHEV Limited was in the Smart Drive Mode and the vehicle was in Electric Mode only being powered by the electric motor. I noticed that the vehicle was struggling to accelerate to the interstate speed of 70 MPH, I pressed the accelerator further in order to gain more speed to safely merge onto the interstate. With the accelerator pushed all the way, the engine eventually turned on after 5-7 seconds assisting the vehicle to reach the speed of 70 MPH. Once on the interstate, I set the cruise control to 70 MPH but the vehicle was not able to maintain that speed. The speed of the Tucson started to drop suddenly and I then began to make my way to the right shoulder of the interstate. During the process of moving to the right shoulder, I did notice that the Power Gauge on the instrument cluster was maxed out, the vehicles engine was running at at very high revs, but I was never able to get more speed out of the vehicle. The vehicle was slowed to 40-45 MPH by the time I was able to reach the shoulder due to traffic. Once on the shoulder and out of the 3 lane, 70 MPH traffic, I was able to power down the vehicle and restart the vehicle with no issues. I then put the vehicle in drive and signaled to the left in order to merge back into traffic. I accelerated briskly to merge with the 70 MPH traffic and the vehicle did operate as normal. The vehicle began to move under EV power and the engine did turn on to begin assisting in moving the vehicle up to speed. The vehicle operated normally for the remainder of my drive, approximately 3-4 miles. During this event, the vehicle never did display any warning lights or messages on the instrument panel or the center screen. No warning tones or chimes were given either. The high voltage battery was at an approximately 68% state of charge and the fuel tank was approximately half full.

I am an active-duty service member who purchased a new 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid on 16 October 2021. The car occasionally makes a strange humming noise while the vehicle is completely turned off. I recorded my car making this strange noise, and the video recording can be seen at https://youtu.be/bY8GJenoWBQ. I had previously notified Hyundai Maintenance of this during a scheduled vehicle check; nothing was done to resolve this matter. The advertised fuel economy on this car is 36/37/37 (city/combined/highway) Miles per Gallon. I am currently getting 28 MPG (see attachment), which is approximately 30% below the advertised fuel economy. Since I purchased this vehicle, it has consistently delivered a poor fuel economy well below the advertised fuel economy. After trying to resolve the poor fuel economy issue with Hyundai for 9 months (see attachment), I reached out to the Better Business Bureau seeking a resolution. On 17 November 2022, I was notified by the Better Business Bureau that Hyundai rejected my proposed resolutions of Hyundai repairing the car under manufacturer warranty or replace it if unable to fix the poor fuel economy, as well as reimburse me for money spent due to excessive fuel consumption. Additionally, other persons have reported their Hyundai cars delivering a fuel economy much lower than advertised (visit https://www.reddit.com/r/Hyundai/comments/nwayqv/2022_tucson_hybrid_poor_gas_mileage/). I have the perception that Hyundai lied and deliberately deceived me. Something is wrong with my car, and Hyundai has been either incompetent or unwilling to repair the issue under the car manufacturer warranty. I believe that it's important to hold companies such as Hyundai accountable. Otherwise, it would have no incentive for doing what is right. I request your assistance with investigating, and if possible, taking actions to hold Hyundai accountable for deceiving consumers by exaggerating its car fuel economy.
