Purchased used car with 70k miles. It never sounded right but eventually the catalytic converter was replaced. Then the engine failed and that was replaced under warranty due to recall. 4 months after the engine was replaced, my son was driving back to college and smelled gas and smoke coming into the car. He tried to pull over but the BRAKES FAILED. He was smart enough to pull the emergency brake and go into the median until the car slowed down enough to get out. He was lucky to get out with his phone but none of his other belongings that cost us a lot of money to replace. The car was ALREADY on fire but he could not get out. By the time he got the car to stop and get out, it was engulfed in flames within seconds. All recalls were completed and with the new engine we thought we were golden. Scariest thing ever.
