The front rotor on my 2019 Tucson was so rusted the brake pad stuck to it resulting in the brakes not working properly. We had to bring it to Country Hyundai in Northampton MA as the brakes were so bad it wasn't safe enough to bring it back to the selling dealer. The service representative said it needed new rotors and pads and that it wasn't covered under Hyundai's warranty. They had no explanation why the rotors are rusting so badly on a car with only 10244 miles other than that the vehicle may have sat on the selling dealer's lot for a year before being sold.
I ended up calling Hyundai's national consumer affairs department and they said it wasn't covered as rust of the brakes happens in states that salt their roads. Obviously Hyundai unwilling to stand behind their product and if their cars can't handle the salt put down on the roads in MA after 7515miles and again at 10244 miles then they need to use a higher quality rotor in their vehicles and stop selling them in states that salt their roads. I have owned many vehicles in my lifetime including three other cars from Toyota and Chevrolet right now and I have never had issues with the brakes other than normal wear of the pads.
Even better is that the Hyundai consumer affairs representative who wouldn't help me said they just issued a recall for the antilock brake module corroding and catching fire. They do not have a fix for that yet so they said to park it outdoors and have it towed if the antilock brake light comes on.
Bottom line is don't buy a Hyundai!
