CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2016 Tucson comes with a dual-clutch, 7-speed transmission. But Hyundai forgot to tell you about one key phrase – zero-move. That's right, an alarming number of owners have said their SUV wouldn't accelerate after a stop.

Turns out that's because the transmission's application logic has been stumbling all over itself. Hyundai recalled the issue in September 2016, but it's difficult to say if owners are out-of-the-woods, or if this is just a sign of things to come.

All 4 windows have stopped working. All four windows have something stuck in the door to hold up the window. This is a safety hazard, considering both backdoors will not open. Hyundai, isn't taking responsibility for the windows. A car with 80000 miles shouldn't have so many issues. I am frustrated!!! I can't have passengers in this vehicle that I paid my hard earned money for!!! The safety hazard of being trapped inside this vehicle if hit in the front and can't get out in the front of the vehicle, back doors don't open and windows don't work!

This was the third of 3 total windows regulators that have failed on this vehicle. the driver side window regulator failed on 5/18 at about 85k miles and the driver side passenger window failed in September with about 86k miles, the front passenger window regulator failed in October.. I contacted Hyundai and indicated that I thought that there might be a systemic problem with window regulators and there was a previous recall on window regulators for this vehicle however my Tucson wasn't represented in the recall. The response from both from the Hyundai dealer and Hyundai corporate was that since the part wasn't under warranty, they held no responsibility and would not assist with either the cost of the parts or the labor to install them.

I hate this car! Engine recalled then a year later same engine problem. They wouldn’t supply a rental! My 81 year old father drove to work for months. Then the headlights and break lights keep going out. Windows stopped going up and down. I have them tapped because I can’t afford $600 per window for 3 windows. Final insult is while I’m recovering from a total knee recovery, my car is targeted and stolen because, I find out later, that the car is known to have the ignition broken easily. I’m tired of this car but can’t trade it in cause I owe to much on this piece of junk.

window regulator broken plastic part

All four windows have stopped working as of early 2022. I filed a BBB complaint and Hyundai responded that I would need to pay out of pocket for this since the vehicle was out of warranty. Which is absolutely absurd. To repair all four defective windows, I'd be looking at around $2,000 ($500 per window).

I advised them that I would be posting on every forum available and emailing senior mgmt until a recall/resolution was reached and the problem mitigated. It is embarrassing having no working windows on our then 5 year old car. Hyundai should be fixing/reimbursing these defective window motors that disintegrate in the Florida humidity/heat. BBB complaints are free and easy, I hope Hyundai gets a terrible rating if they do not fix this issue.

Front passenger window stopped working. Called dealership, and I was told $160 to determine issue, then could be up to $700 to repair.

The problem is the small plastic gear, it dry rots and then breaks. Hyundai used junk plastic and expect the consumer to keep paying for junk.

Update from Jul 17, 2022: .3 months after the passenger side front broke, the driver side did the same thing. At this point I took it to the dealer to repair. I had purchased from Amazon a new motor and regulator for the passenger side, so I asked if they would install it. They did and it all worked fine.

The repair cost me $958.02 plus $168 for the regulator from Amazon, $80 motor, for a grand total of $1206.00

This because Hyundai chose to use cheap crap plastic. I opened a case with Hyundai and spoke to the GM of the dealership whom I have known and done business with for 18 years, and none of them helped me. But did say it was OK to go ahead and pay the $1200 dollars because they need a vacation.
