Not Engaging
2016 Hyundai Tucson
This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Hyundai dealer.
CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2016 Tucson comes with a dual-clutch, 7-speed transmission. But Hyundai forgot to tell you about one key phrase – zero-move. That's right, an alarming number of owners have said their SUV wouldn't accelerate after a stop.
Turns out that's because the transmission's application logic has been stumbling all over itself. Hyundai recalled the issue in September 2016, but it's difficult to say if owners are out-of-the-woods, or if this is just a sign of things to come.

Transmission would not go into reverse. Check engine light came on. Driving forward with check engine light on causes hesitation between gears. The problem will fix itself usually after restarting the engine a few times. I learned that if you hear a click click click sound when starting the car, that usually indicates the reverse will not engage. I took this to a Hyundai dealership and they recommended a full transmission replacement for $6k-$7k. They would not cover the cost of the replacement since I am not the original owner. The car was only 6 years old with 94k miles when this issue began.
