CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2016 Tucson comes with a dual-clutch, 7-speed transmission. But Hyundai forgot to tell you about one key phrase – zero-move. That's right, an alarming number of owners have said their SUV wouldn't accelerate after a stop.
Turns out that's because the transmission's application logic has been stumbling all over itself. Hyundai recalled the issue in September 2016, but it's difficult to say if owners are out-of-the-woods, or if this is just a sign of things to come.

At certain times my car doesn-??t want to start. Like when there were carburetors in cars way back in the day, I literally have to pump the gas to make it start. And then once it does, it-??s very hesitant to go on the road like it has no power. And then another time my car totally just shut down in the middle of traffic and would barely go, like it had no speed ability. This happens often my car is not under warranty. And it is not included in the recall with some kind of fuel pump situation. I had a mechanic look at it. He seems to think it-??s something to do with the fuel pump. But unfortunately, I cannot afford the cost of repairing that, and he didn-??t seem quite certain as well.
The driver and driver passenger doors get stuck and will not open after you lock them so I cleave to climb over the passenger to lock the door or I have to keep the windows down to be able to unlock and open the door the door latches are getting stuck I went to Hyundai in Little Rock the said I was covered under warranty and they never fixed it nor called me to tell me the part came in and it-??s ready to be fixed this is a major safety hazard because I could be in a dark place or running from someone and can-??t get inside the car or have access inside the driver side to do anything
Rear doors will not open from inside or outside. This traps passengers if they are in the back seats. Back seats can only be accessed by climbing in from the front seats

The passenger door window rolled down but would not come back up. I was able to grab the window and pull it up. This is a safety issue because anyone can just push the window down. Not too mention if an officer needed you to roll down the window you could not.
There is no power when accelerating, especially up a hill. The rpm's hover over 4k for a long time before downshifting, hence, eating up gas like crazy. Also, the passenger side back door does not open at all, the driver's side back door takes several pulls before opening, the driver's door takes 3 pulls to open, and the front passenger door takes a minimum of three pulls to open. The no power just recently started happening. The door issue started in late 2023 and has gotten progressively worse just recently.
The back door latch does not unlock so neither back passanger doors will open at all. If something were to happen where we need to evacuate quickly this puts people in the back at a huge risk. I have taken it to get repaired and they want at least $250 for each door. There were no warnings one day the door just stopped opening and then the other stopped. It-??s been over a year now. There are multiple videos on youtube on how to -??fix-?? it for this specific vehicle so I don-??t understand how this hasn-??t been recalled already.
I have a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. So far I had to have both the front driver side and passenger side window regulators replaced. I just recently noticed that both of my back windows do not work. I currently have an appointment with the Hyundai dealer to replace both of the back window regulators. I drive around with a piece of duck tape holding the back windows up. Hyundai has to know that this is a problem. Hyundai requires an anti theft recall but it-??s useless as anyone can pull my windows down by force due to broken regulator in each door. Insanely ridiculous and unsafe.
My car randomly will not reverse; it's happened a few times, I was alone or with my 5 year old the first time, and next couple of times I've had witnesses (husband and a friend) and this last time I was alone but I took a video. Sometimes my car feels like it has no power or like it's in the first gear struggling to make it past that (it's an automatic but that's the best way I can describe it). Three out of my four doors stick and I have to pull multiple times to get the door opened, even though it's unlocked. I find these issues, while not outright dangerous, can be a hassle especially when I'm in a parking lot trying to reverse into a spot or out of a spot. It's hard for my 8 year old to get in or out of the car cause her door sticks. I feel like when my car is driving sluggish, that I am going to get hit by another car.
Driver side door latch won't open after unlocking with key fob. No warning from inside the car. Have not been to a dealer or independent service center so have not had any inspections. Not necessarily a safety issue at this point but could be in the future. As part of my work, I'm in and out of my car a lot so locking the car is necessary. I should not have to climb over the shift/middle console to unlock it. Should be part of a recall to fix.
My driver window stopped working in 2022, I paid to go get it fixed at an automotive place and then now as of 2023 all of the other 3 windows stopped working within a 2-4 month period. For all 3 windows to go randomly stop working within the 2-4 month period is the concern. I have mentioned this issue to my dealership and cooperate is also aware of the situation. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer. No warning lamps, messages, or symptoms ever appeared anywhere, it just happened randomly and out of nowhere.
The window regulator cables for all windows have failed multiple times, even after taking it to the dealership and paying to have this defect -??fixed-?? they fail again. Now the only working window is the drivers and I cannot afford to have the other 3 fixed which is a safety hazard if an emergency were to happen. This is a manufacturer defect and there needs to be a recall done.
Right front door (passenger) will not open when using the outside handle. Passenger front door latch replaced under technical bulletin / silent recall at no cost to me.
Was unable to open front passenger side window using driver's side controls, but was able to close. No problem opening and closing the passenger window from the passenger's side controls. Was fixed by replacing the driver's side master window switch at my expense (no longer under warranty).
Air conditioning compressor stopped working, it had 'seized' according to the dealer and had to be replaced at my expense since it was out of warranty.
