CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2016 Tucson comes with a dual-clutch, 7-speed transmission. But Hyundai forgot to tell you about one key phrase – zero-move. That's right, an alarming number of owners have said their SUV wouldn't accelerate after a stop.

Turns out that's because the transmission's application logic has been stumbling all over itself. Hyundai recalled the issue in September 2016, but it's difficult to say if owners are out-of-the-woods, or if this is just a sign of things to come.

The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. While operating the vehicle with the headlights illuminated, the rear brake lights would not illuminate or function. However, the rear brake lights operated normally when the headlights were turned off. Also, when making a left turn, the driver side turn signal light would suddenly shut off when turning the steering wheel. In addition, when switching the transmission shifter from park into drive, the vehicle jerked forward. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The local dealer (bob stallings Hyundai, 39444 lbj freeway S., dallas, tx) was notified of the failures, but the manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 49,000.

I purchased a Hyundai Tucson in sepember of 2016 new. I noticed right away that I could not see very well at night. The headlights are aimed at the ground 2-3 car lengths in front of the bumper. With the high beams on you can see the definite line between light and dark approx 4-5 car lengths in front of the bumper. When cars are approaching on an undivided road, the visibility is reduced even more from the glare of the oncoming lights. I have had 2 close calls where I almost hit a pedestrian walking on the edge of the road with dark clothes on. I have taken the vehicle to autofair Hyundai in manchester, nh on two occasions to have the headlights adjusted to correct the problem. I quote the response, "customer would like us to adjust the headlights, states he can not see at night, can see if we can adjust them, misc per state law we cannot adjust the headlights above where they are currently. 6686 isp" the insurance institute for highway safety's evaluations says "manufacturers aren't paying enough attention to the actual on-road performance of the basic equipment, we're optimistic that improvements will come quickly now that we've given automakers something to strive for." For 2017, vehicles will need good or acceptable headlights in order to qualify for the institute's highest award, top safety pick+.that's real nice of them. What happens to my 2016 model" I want my vehicle recalled and repaired. Why should I have to wait and be forced to buy a 2017 model in order to have a safe car at night"

The first sign of trouble with the vehicle concerned the computerized functions within the vehicle. I could not sync my phone to the car and other issues. The second sign of trouble was when I was on my way to work one rainy morning. I exited the expressway and stopped at the red light. Once the light turned green - the car would not move. I sat there for a few lights attempting to get the car to move. It finally jerked and accelerated very quickly and I immediately took the car to the dealership. I was told that there was nothing wrong with the car because they road tested the car and did not have the same problem. I kept having all sorts of problems after this, such as jerking, lurching, lights flickering in and out, to name a few. The transmission seems to be confused and I consider this car to be quite unsafe to drive. Eventually I took the car back to the dealer and they replaced a hood latch - something I did not even know I needed and performed a software cluster that was supposed to repair the vehicle. They kept the car for a full week. I got the car back and did not have it 24 hours before it started acting up again, but even worse than before. It still shoots out after the accelerator has been tapped gently, lurches and jerks forward, stalls and stops, especially if it is raining. I don't even want to think about trying to drive this car once the winter has set in. I am already afraid to drive it. I have been attempting to communicate with the dealer (world Hyundai of matteson, il ) and Hyundai motors to no avail. I have to pay for a car that is unsafe to drive. I am afraid they aren't going to make any real changes unless someone has a tragic accident and dies.

A/C digital display brightness is very dim and cannot be adjusted. It is so dim that I am unable to read the display during daytime hours. The instrument display brightness is adjustable. Dealer took a new Tucson off the lot and. It had the same problem. They issued a case number 9227369. Have not heard anything from Hyundai about this design problem.
