Engine Overheating
2016 Hyundai Tucson
This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Hyundai dealer.
CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2016 Tucson comes with a dual-clutch, 7-speed transmission. But Hyundai forgot to tell you about one key phrase – zero-move. That's right, an alarming number of owners have said their SUV wouldn't accelerate after a stop.
Turns out that's because the transmission's application logic has been stumbling all over itself. Hyundai recalled the issue in September 2016, but it's difficult to say if owners are out-of-the-woods, or if this is just a sign of things to come.

alternator bolt was sheared in half - replaced the bolt
January 4, 2017 our new 2016 Tucson ( Hyundai)with 12,000 km. on it - lost acceleration, the engine overheating alarm and warning came on and the battery light came on. The car lost all power and coasted to a standstill, one block from the Hyundai dealership in Vernon, BC> The young service lad came to the car with a portable charger and after charging it, he limped it over to the service centre of Vernon Hyundai, a 1/2 block away. They determined that the Alternator bolt had sheared in half and said it is a very rare problem, hardly ever seen before! They fixed it the next morning and we were on our way.
We have since driving about 1,000 km to Vancouver and back and then yesterday, started our trip to Edmonton, Alberta. Without any prior warning, on Hwy 16, about 5 km. east of Mount Robson and 100 km west of Jasper, Alberta the very same thing occurred. We pulled into a small pull out at the top of Shale Hill, luckily recognizing the problem from three weeks ago. Looking under the hood we saw the same bolt that had just been replaced by Vernon Hyundai on Jan. 5th, 2017 had sheared in half once more and the Alternator was flopping around. We stood at the side of Highway 16 from 2000 hrs - 2100 hrs trying to safely flag someone down to take us to Valemount, 20 km. away (nearest town). The highway is mountainous, the temperature was -2 and colder with the wind chill and it was very dark. There is a steep cliff leading down to the Fraser River where the car is parked and a Rock Face on the opposite side of the road. Semi trucks fly by very fast, as do the snowmobilers driving their pickups and trailers loaded down with equipment. We were sure someone would call the RCMP to alert them that we were stranded. We were flashing our flashlight onto a white cloth in the air to alert drivers. We waited one hour until a woman in a private pick up heading west stopped and did a U-turn, parking behind us in the small pull out and offered to interrupt her own trip to Prince George by driving us into Valemount which is a 1/2 hr (1 hour total) out of her way. We were cold, unable to start the car because of the battery not charging and very much stranded with NO CELL SERVICE because this location is in the Rocky Mountains near Mount Robson. Hyundai dealership is meeting with us when we return to Kelowna. I do not want a Hyundai Tuscon anymore. Our lives are in danger with this car.
