Another episode of it going into "limp" mode. Took it to a local garage after trying all the computer reset fixes to no avail. Oil showed non-existent again with no idiot lights. The engine light did come on for a minute flashing then off. The mechanic said he reset the computer, checked codes and cleared all and said the oil needed changed and to do so about every 3k miles. Left with it running fine.

The next morning I took care of some appts. within just of few miles of home. On my way home I heard a ticking and awful metal noises. Was closed to where I had just gotten it back from the nite before. He gave me back what I had paid him and told me the engine was blown! Gave me rough estimate on what the cost would be. No idiot lights again. OIl registered on the stick within the range of full and I was told it was blown! WTF! Now what do I do... still owe, can't afford an engine or another vehicle... was depending on this one to carry me thru for awhile. What the hell has happened to customer service, quality and a good vehicle... this sucks!

Traveling down the highway and the vehicle went into what I will call "limp" mode. Couldn't get over 2k rpm. Idled it home.... let it cool down then checked what I could including oil... none on the stick! NO LIGHTS. Filled it as required. Ran fine after that. Change oil every 4k miles regularly. No idea what the issue was and didn't follow up on it which it looks like I should have... More research before I purchased actually.

I went to get my regular oil change and they noticed that I didn't have much oil left. They told me that they were monitoring all Hyundai's coming through their store per Hyundai's request. They told me that Hyundai was aware of the issue. I took my car into the dealership about 2 weeks later for another recall issue and they told me that my car was too old for them to do anything about it. Now I am putting oil in so I don't blow my engine between oil changes. I am still paying on my car so I am not sure I can even trade the car in. I am upset because they know there is an issue and they won't fix it. The car had no problems before this.
