Just bought this vehicle BRAND NEW 15 days ago. Today noticed front corner of roof rail panel lifted about half an inch from the surface of the car ( where the panel meets the panoramic sunroof and windshield).
I was shocked and worried this would affect the function of the sunroof and possible water leakage to the interior ..(and also unslightly).
I took it into the dealer right away for a diagnosis. After comparing the left and right sides the Technician pushed the rubber seal down and suspects that seal got caught on a snowbrush and was pulled up and is no reason for concern just advised to be gentle when brushing snow off this area. Technician said this area has to be flexible for the sunroof...Yet the other side is still flush.
The night before was the first time I cleaned snow off the top. I am a small person and was very careful because I didn't want to scratch my brand new car.
After the Technician pushed it down, the corner still is not flush and is lifted about 4mm .
My concern is how is it so easy to move this area.. and will it happen again?. It makes it look cheap and ugly. This is terrible. I don't agree this is how its suppose to be, and to just push it in if it does this again.
Could this be a defect? Can and should I get it replaced or fixed?
Update from Apr 18, 2015: I was advised to go back and speak with service manager. It was deemed defective so the dealer replaced at no cost.
