We went to go look at a house and we noticed driving home that the car would not shift properly, it wasnt giving any accelleration. We also heard a grinding noise while driving the car. We were afraid that the car would stall while driving so we headed right to the dealership. We insisted they look at the engine because of my husband knowing about cars, knew what the problem was. We also insisted on a loaner while they look at the car.
They did look at the car and called me two days later, they will need to replace the entire engine. We were also told that this can take up too a few months to fix or longer because of the engine back order. I now have Hyundai Corporate involved with this because my car is not even 4 years old yet and not even 30K in mileage. I am very not happy with this car because this car is a limited Edition Walking Dead edition. No car under 30K or less then 4 years old should have its engine replaced.
I am so happy that Hyundai has the 5 year, 60,000 warranty on their cars. I do love Hyundai cars but I am not happy with this particular car. I called corporate to complain about the problem and all they told me was at least its getting fixed. Not happy with the answer I got especially with it being a limited edition vehicle.
Once the engine gets fixed, I will now have to worry about the transmission because it will make the transmission work harder with the engine being so new. We will see what happens. They told me the engine is on recall till at least the end of July. Ugh. I just wish they would of let me kept the car they lent me. 2018 Hyundai Tucson. I cannot fall in love with it too much. We will see how long it will actually take them to fix it. They have a car that is a 2012 Tucson that has still not received its new engine. It has been at the dealership since April. So we will see.
