Bought the 2010 Hyundai Tucson new. At 103,000 (in 2018) a hose that carries transmission fluid from the trans to the radiator blew off causing all the trans fluid to leak out the bottom of the car. Had the car towed to the dealer. The dealer told me the transmission is no good and needed to be replaced. It was not covered under warranty because we were 3k over the 100k warranty. Paid 3500 to replace it with a new one as there was not any rebuilds available.
This new transmission had multiple documented problems (by the same dealer) such as no power leaving from a stop, a hard down shift at 30 miles per hour, stuck in 4th gear, and shifting numbers on dash would change but the transmission did not. Took the car into the dealer at 130k and said "I don't want this car back until you figure out what is wrong". Today (they have had the car for 2.5 weeks) they called and said the transmission is no good and needs replaced. They quoted me 3600.00 for the new one. Needless to say I am livid. I see from a quick scan of the internet that others have had same or similar problems. I've contacted a law firm that handles class action suits and requested they open a case. Waiting to hear back. :(
