First incident occurred-when I lived in fredericksburg, va -I was driving on rt 1 going downhill toward a stop light(no vehicle in front of me). As I was coming to a stop at the light the vehicle brakes were press down as far as it could go and I hear a clicking noise on the panel which was the ESC light. I had to turn the car off and put it in park to start it, in order to continue to drive. This has happened a couple other times. Tires have been replaced couple of times and brake pads because of groves and grinding noise. Now I'm having problems with my car won't start - had battery checked at advanced auto and its good. ESC light on with clicking noise when attempt to start car. Now that my vehicle have almost 123,000 miles, I found a recall NHTSA: 09V122000. Called Hyundai customer assistance center 1-800-633-5151 this morning at 08:18 am eastern standard time, I advise the representative that I had been having problem with my vehicle as described in this recall. She said my vehicle is not eligible because it was not in the list of VIN'"?S they had complaints. Should the recall have a cut off because of mileage, is there a determination that the problem was corrected in my vehicle by VIN, does it pertain to vehicle manufactured in a particular region of the us, overseas or defective parts on the vehicle. Second owner of vehicle, purchased vehicle from Hyundai certified dealer when returned from deployment. I'?"M a veteran and the vehicle has a lot of highway mileage to and from the nearest va medical hospital, va community out-patient base clinic, and other medical services.

The contact owns a 2006 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that the electronic stability control (ESC) light continued to illuminate on the instrument panel. In addition, the brake lights were inoperable. She was concerned that a rear end crash could occur due to the brake light failure. The manufacturer stated that they did not know which VIN's would be included in NHTSA campaign id number 09V122000 and Hyundai recall number 092. The recall notices would not be issued until July of 2009. The recall was initiated on April 15, 2009 (see NHTSA action number PE09003 for investigation details). The failure and current mileages were less than 80,000.

When I put on my brake to shift the car into gear, the ESC off light illuminates. This is caused by a faulty brake switch. When the brake switch is faulty, I have no brake lights at all. I have had three brake switches replaced in this car. Today was the latest incident and the car is now at the dealership for switch #4. this occurs about every 6 months.
