I own a 2005 bought brand new Hyundai tucsan. Today we went to put something in the hatch using the window and it fell into my hands. The latches are so corroded that they just fell off. This should not be happening to a 6 yr old vehicle.
While opening the rear hatch window of my 2005 Hyundai Tucson, both window hinges broke and the window fell into my hands. The vehicle was parked in the driveway. When I called the dealer he said the hinges were $97. A piece and said he had a lot of them in stock (which leads me to believe this happens a lot more frequently than is reported!)
I bought my Hyundai tuscon brand new back in 2005. Last week I noticed a rattling sound coming from the rear windshield and when I went to check it the back windshield almost has fallen out. The latch that holds the windshield in place has corroded completely. I can honestly say that over the 5 years I have owned the vehicle I hardly open the back window. I usually open the entire tailgate when placing items for storage. I have contacted the dealer and Hyundai about the issue looking to get the latch replaced and haven't heard anything back from them. I have tried on several attempts since I notice the problem. This is dangerous and could cause the windshield to come falling out.
