The Next Morning I woke up to the scariest news about my Car. All Hyundais and Kias are doing a recall. Not only that, they are having another one in June, not to mention these companies are going under a lawsuit as well due to engine fires. I never knew it was maintenance for my car. Nobody called or emailed me about it. I would have seriously taken action. I informed the dealership I bought it from - Wards Family Group LLC. He said he couldn’t give me another car even though I wasn’t even informed by him that he was selling me a recall car. So I called Hyundai all day complaining about my situation. They kept telling and asking about my insurance but I didn’t have any to cover for the fire damage and they denied me another car.
I looked online about recalls. It legally states that if anybody owns a recall car, the company has the legal right to replace and offer a new car due to manufacturing maintenance. I tried calling around different attorneys but they said they couldn’t help due to me not having insurance - which another policy says insurance has nothing to do with recall cars. In the evening I finally received a phone call from Hyundai Motor America Company headquarters & Ms.Gretchen, a case worker manager, asked me about the details of what, when, how and where it happened. I told her everything she asked about the knocking noise, the engine light etc I told her I only saw smoke. Honestly I never told her about the knocking noise because I thought it was part of the car or how it started due to it being a gas and electric vehicle.
She told me that I was informed but I was informed at the address that the vehicle was registered at but not at the current address that is on file as well. In other words she said it was my fault that I didn’t see the letter which I don’t understand how when I still wasn’t informed by anybody about having to come to the shop due to engine maintenance. No Calls No text no emails no warning. She also asked me what all did I lose in the fire and to email all the information to her and ask did I have insurance to cover it. I answered No. She said it’s not a way they can fix or give me another car due to the insurance not being on there but she will have somebody to come inspect to see what caused it. I already said what did even the fire department informed me about the problem. She didn’t tell me when they were coming to inspect the Car. I don’t know what else to do I feel like I lost everything because I suppose to be moving in my first apartment next month I can’t even do that. Hyundai needs to do something fast! A check for another car or a courtesy check - something has to be fixed now.
