My 2019 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T which has 45,000 miles on it has four wheels with peeling paint, so now we are being forced to drive around with trashy silver painted, PEELING and BLACK wheels. I have taken great care of my car and have never abused it, nor have I used any other cleaner that is specifically for wheels or bad quality. I had no idea this was a known issue until I decided to look into it on the internet. I was shocked at the number of other Hyundai owners that have had the same issue, though the majority of the other complainants that are having this issue seem to be on the Santa Fe model.
I expect Hyundai to either replace my wheels or have them repaired/refinished PROPERLY at no cost to me. I pay every car payment and take extremely good care of my Sonata. I have recommended and praised Hyundai since getting this car (my first from the company.) I previously owned a 2012 Toyota Camry and loved it, that's what I was hoping for when we purchased this Sonata. We bought it because we were so impressed with how nice the car was and the fact that it has almost every option one could ask for.
We put our faith in Hyundai and expected wonderful quality, which I still believe it is, but I will definitely be basing my potential patronage to Hyundai according to how they remedy this problem, especially when it's apparently a well known issue.
