I am experiencing problems with the steering. The steering has dead spots and feels extremely loose, it is very stressful keeping the car strait on the highway as it is all over the road. The steering light comes on but the dealers always tell me "we can't find any codes". there was a loud what he thought was an "electrical" sound in the front end while turning the steering wheel as the service manager at tameron Hyundai put it. Instead of checking the steering they put struts on it, which has made the problem 1000X worse now the alignment is off which they can't seem to fix and with the steering problems makes it nearly impossible to drive. Whenever it rains the steering light comes on and the steering wheel either stops responding or becomes hard to steer. I put new tires on it less than a year ago that have less than 10,000 miles on them and have rotated them twice at 5,000 miles the alignment is so bad that one tire is now bald! every time I go to a dealer they refuse to help. I'm putting this here in case I die in this car! also the engine hesitates and shakes violently when starting. The shaking is when it ideals, but on the interstate when you press the gas it "pulses" and hesitate while accelerating (I hardly get a chance to test to see how bad the hesitation is because the steering is so lose) I am now finding out the 2015 Sonata engine is effected by the massive defect they have had in 2011- 2014 models but are not making it publicly known. One would think with all the steering and engine problems Hyundai has had in the past Sonata's they would take this serious. All they do is blame customers, if you call their customer support line they will tell you they closed your case in less than a day without looking at the car. I hope the government gets this company under control for consumers sake and safety sake.
When the right indicator was turned on, the left indicator lights came on. When the left indicator was turned on, the right indicator lights came on. When the indicators are turned on the first blink or two is the wrong direction, then it switches to the correct direction. First time was on an interstate, other times around town.
While driving the vehicle I smelt and seen smoke and then a pop coming from the car and within seconds flames coming up from outside of the driver door. Pulled over and within 3 minutes the car was fully involved in flames. Was driving down a city street going approximately 35 mph.
Engine light is in after recall in regards to the engine light and electric issue. The car is stopping and the gas pedal not working properly. The car starts shaking like it wants to turn off.
I have a 2015 Hyundai Sonata with 24K miles. The check engine light came on and was flashing as I pulled into a parking lot for my daughter to pickup her car. The garage owner said to pull in my car. The diagnostic read out was P2600 obs-ll. Upon researching it the code said, coolant pump "a" control circuit?open. They provided me with the print out. They said try to drive it. I did & drove maybe 300 feet & it would not accelralte above 15 mph. I turned around took it back to the garage's lot. The next day I called Hyundai roadside assist to have it towed to superior Hyundai South, where I purchased the car.this occurred Thursday January 17th. The car is still at superior Hyundai waiting word from Hyundai motors. Dave the service manager said it either needs a wire harness or an engine. Not sure the relationship. Seems to me they should put on the wire harness, if that doesn't fix it replace the engine.

2015 Sonata limited, engine eats all the oil within 2 weeks and no check oil light comes on. Now my car wont start, only thing that happens when I try to start it is the dash lights come on like its ready but then just shuts off. Car just stoped running on me and my pregnant girlfriend while we were on the interstate. I had to try my best not to get in a big crash. Now I dont know what to do and need or only car. 7 weeks till the baby comes....
Vehicle was stationary when problem first occured and when I applied my foot on the foot emergency parking brake the brake light does not illuminate on the dashboard. The light flickers occasionally or does not come on at all.
I took my car to priorty Hyundai because it wouldn't start. They said it was a issue and then priorty Hyundai fixed it and let me drive it. 3 weeks later it did not start. They say they fixed it but now they are telling me to tow it to them so they can check it. They say a recall has been issued. And I have to wait 5 days until the check it. I am missing work. They said it was already fixed. Before it stop working I took a 5 he trip. The car was defected and they let me drive it. It stopped once when I was in the highway coming back luckily traffic went around me until it started and I was able to get home. Now it doesn't start.
To note vehicle had a complete evaluation 1 week prior with no current or upcoming issues. Upon starting car "ABS light, traction light, bsd (blind side detection) light" came on. Upon driving, my bsd sensors did not operate, and engine made whistling sound upon acceleration and would not go over 40mph without the power being pulled from the engine. Also to note my car was apparently trying to be in a higher gear at 30mph (5th gear). All of this is very suspicious as the car has only been serviced at dealerships with most recent being 1 week prior. Service department seemed very poor at explaining the cause for the simultaneous malfunctions of all these systems. I do not currently feel as safe with this vehicle as I have before.
Our car was serviced by southwest Hyundai dealer in albuquerque on 7/6, and although it was idling rough, they told us our car was safe to continue our vacation to co. The next morning, 30 miles later on I 25 we were traveling the speed limit, and a clanking noise started and smoke poured out from under the hood...we pulled over immediately. Billows of smoke. We called 911 and road assistance. Santa Fe fire dept forced hood open and flooded the engine. Car was towed to sante fe Hyundai fiesta. Our insurance company inspected and said the car was totaled. Hyundai corporate will be inspecting the car to try and determine cause. According to geico adjuster, that may not be possible. Everything melted.
While driving the vehicle, the air conditioning stopped working. I took it to the dealership and they told me that the blower relay had melted to the box it was in. As such, he was going to have to replace the entire wiring harness. He also indicated that had I not brought it in, the vehicle could catch fire while driving. I told him this is a safety issue and Hyundai should take care of the bill. Hyundai said no and the bill is going to be $5,000.
I bought the car in 2015, currently the car has less than 14,000 miles. Within this 3 year and low mileage I had experience several problems 1.- tires breaks easily 2.- electrical wires insulator has been applied with vegetables solution, making fatal attraction to rodents 3.- battery doesn't last over 12,000 miles 4.- seat belts are defectives, and still is 5.- between the transmission and the transfer case the is a dragging noise 6.- technology package? expensive and malfunction making this safety issue dangerous. 7.- radio......part of the technology package stop working if you stop Hyundai so called blue link service 8.- screen at my dashboard went blank 3 times at 3,000. 7,000 and 11,000 miles 9.- while driving my vehicle engine shut off at stop light (thanks god it happens when I was driving locally) all this happens within this 3 years that I own the car
1/2 mile after starting my vehicle and driving approx 30 mph, my car shuttered and shook. Pulled over and it seemed to fix itself so I continued 23 miles to work. Was approx 39 degrees according to car dashboard. Leaving work 9 hours later, I drove approx 1.5 miles in stop and go traffic, speed no higher than 25-30 mph, crossed over rr tracks and the car shuttered and then shut off completely rolling to a stop. Threw on my hazards and the screen indicated I should put it in park and restart. The battery light and master indicator light came on. Car restarted and the lights disappeared. Went straight to Hyundai dealer. They attempted a 17 mile road test the next day after the car sat overnight and it did not repeat the issue. Nothing was stored in the computer system from when the lights came on. They have no explanation. Oil was changed and took car back at 5pm the day after the issue took place. Drove 24 miles to work today and it did not repeat yet.
The vehicle began making a knocking noise while driving up the mountain to big bear. No warning lights illuminated on the dash. Two days later while descending the mountain, the vehicle continued making the noise. No lights were illuminated on the dash. Then, while still on the mountain, there was a loud "pop", smoke could be seen in the rear view mirror, and the engine died; I coasted to the side of the road. The car behind me pulled over and the driver yelled that my car was on fire. Flames could be seen under the car. The fire spread and ultimately the car exploded, setting the hillside on fire. The fire department extinguished the fire and the car was towed away.
On Dec, .21st, 2017 I entered a business parking lot at low speed as one would enter a parking lot and within a few feet turned right to enter an aisle between 2 rows of parked cars. At the second right I had my foot on the brake to slow but realized my car was not slowing, maybe even accelerating and then, horrified, realized my efforts to slow or stop were futile! I swerved to miss a person and fishtailed hitting a bumper of an unoccupied car. By then I was nearly T-bone to many cars on a busy street. Still not able to stop I made an abrupt turn to the right and was fortunate (yes, fortunate) to hit a retaining wall around business signs in order to stop the car. Thru these frantic very few seconds as I was trying to stop, my foot was on the brake, I couldn't pump it as one would expect to do and the vehicle seemed to be accelerating. My choice came down to hit many occupied cars on the street or turn and hit the retaining wall. Again, how fortunate it was there!! airbags didn't deploy; the car is a total loss. This is a very frightening experience. Could it be that other drivers of the Hyundai 2015 Sonata have not lived to tell what happened?
I bought the car with 15 miles on it. Ever since I got it the car been starling. Engine lights comes on. I took it to the dealership and they said its a false code. The 2nd time they said its air filter.the 3rd time they said its body throttle. Today the car shut down while driving it, im at the dealership and they want me to pay for the same problem that jas never Geo fix. They blaming me for not taking it everytime it stalls. There is diferrent problem with the car that I don't stated. I'm really frustrated after for trip here at tje dealership and cant even found the problem. Hynday os ripping poor people off because they also come with an excuse.
My Sonata has started stalling and shutting down without warning. The first time it happed was Dec 12th. I just finished accelerating from about 35mph to 60mph. There the vehicle made a loud thump and the engine shut down. Seconds later I lost power steering, dash lights, and headlights. The car restarted without issue. The same problem happened on Dec. 16th while traveling at a constant 30mph. I experienced the same symptoms as before, except the vehicle did not shake or create a loud noise before shutting down. Mileage was at 75980. Temperature was in the 20's. I took the car do the dealership and they could not find anything wrong or recreate the problem. The third time this has happened was Dec 29th. I was traveling at 20mph and coasting to a stoplight. It was 19 deg outside and the mileage was around 76800. So far the car has not shut off when the weather is above freezing. Lower temps might be contributing to the problem but not likely to be the primary cause. In all cases the car was at operating temp and was running for more then 30 min. It has not yet shut off while accelerating. Only maintaining speed or coasting. About a two months ago the dealer did a software update on the vehicle due to a claimed recall. The issue started about 2-3 weeks later this is definitely a safety issue since it happens without warning. I did find some other complaints similar to this while searching.
I left harrisburg to drop 3 students to state college, driving for uber on 09/29/2017.around 9:30pm in lewiston in mifflin county, we came across a short turn.I got a kind of sudden small speed. We were out of the road. I tried to stop and put the car back on the road, too late. We hit a mountain and the car was lying on his right side.thanks god nobody got hurt; just chocked and some scratches.after reading the documents my insurance company sent to me, I realized there were a recall on my car for two problems.my car used to have this small speed sometimes I didn't know why. Hyundai motors sent me a email on October 26th to let me know about the recall; too late we already got crash. I want to say that my last inspection was at Hyundai but we didn't tell me about.
